  1. Congrats on the conversion from honda to subaru. I just converted the wife last weekend.
  2. Thats not a bad rate. Our local guy charged close to that on mom's 98 a few years back. And he knows these things inside out. Just comes down to whether or not you trust your motor's life to him or not.
  3. I'm so very torn between the 97-99 GT's and the 05-07 on styling it hurts. I'm a manual trans kinda guy myself and I think the 5mt in this one is one of best shifting units subaru has ever put out. It just needs a short throw to keep up with me in spirited driving . We also test drove an 05 auto... Mom's 98 2.2 auto would have ripped that think a new a-hole. This new one is the wifey's car. I've got pretty much all I've asked for carwise in the last few years(even though they have been old and rusty:grin: ). She deserves something safe and reliable. That civic was about to drive me insane with wiring gremlins.
  4. Also concerning the third link. EJ25 dohc heads on the EJ22 will lower the cr to near the same level. And all sensors are interchangable.
  5. Also this may be up your alley http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showpost.php?p=574353&postcount=19
  6. Parts you'd need would be... Engine crossmember from 91-94 legacy turbo or 02+ wrx. Exhaust manifold/up pipe/ downpipe/ turbo from either of the above. WRX TMIC with an aftermarket silicone inlet hose. some customed intake pieces based off the Turbo Legacy and some sort of tuning Look around on NASIOC, rs25.com, and legacycentral.org Warning on NASIOC search for about three weeks at least before ever asking a question there or they will flame you like the pricks they are... BTW where is WV are you?
  7. I noticed the feeling of hugeness over the past weekend with our "new" 06 2.5i sedan. It isn't really that much bigger than the previous generations but damn if it doesn't feel like it. I know its got my mom's 98 by about 300lbs. But thats sunroof, better brakes, bigger wheels, more airbags, and a bigger engine for ya. These things are hands down THE best legacy's they made in terms of handling out of the box. And I'd probably put money on the 06 beating the 91 Turbo any day of the week.
  8. I don't think it really makes a difference which way they are routed. I've seen it discussed on here before somewhere though.
  9. So basically I can get a d/s rocker panel... Fabrication here I come.
  10. Yeah, aftermarket head units don't like a common ground system such as these cars have. I ended up rewiring all the speaker in my brat when I did it.
  11. Not sure on wiring. But Legacy hasn't had anything other than the ej25 here from my00 and up.
  12. Knock sensor looks for the motor to emit a certain frequency through the metal indicating a knock. It is located on the d/s of the motor near the bellhousing and coolant tubes. Black with a single wire coming from it. IIRC its held to the block with a single 12mm bolt.
  13. Maybe I can take it off your hands. How much you wantin? Or if you'd rather keep the car for a small fee the g/f can be eliminated...
  14. I hate people like that. It would have been priceless if you could have gotten the car going, when where she said you "couldn't go". Came back with a fresh cold coca cola. And knocked on her door, handed her the drink... (said with a big sh*t eating grin)"Here Ma'am, Have a coke and a smile and shut the F UP".
  15. They are probably new codes. I had some old ones on my legacy from who knows when. I had to pull the battery to put in a car I was selling. And when I got the new one in and moved the leg into place to be stripped it cleared the codes. I'd try pulling the battery cables overnight and starting fresh in the morning and see what she does then.
  16. 7513 23240 7513 22350 7514 28300 7514 28310 7513 23040 7513 23050 7524 20140 These are the main ones I'm wondering about. I know some of them are probably gone from the world for good though. If they are still around just let me know how many so I can maybe hurry up the saving process, LOL.
  17. Several gen 2 Brat parts have gone obsolete. Like the fender tubs inside the bed. I'm wondering if the rear quarters are all gone. They show active when I look them up online. But I have no way of knowing untill I have the extra change to order them.
  18. Thats awesome Dave. Now get a stock hood and that RX air dam. maybe nobody will notice the HUGE FMIC:headbang:
  19. MWE's aren't that badly priced if you need a full custom peice like ea81 25 spline that will hold up forever. I think the site has it listed for $85 plus core and shipping IIRC.
  20. I'm in no hurry man. Its again too cold to fool with cars down here.
  21. Cool. I was questioning it because the factory parts manual has different numbers of the hatch and brat. And thats a very nice piece. I hadn't seen it with the extra two bars. But i'm limited on space with no lift plans for this one.
