A small car lot nearby has two brats. One is a red 85 no jump seats but has headrests and seat frame. Small rust spots on the rear fenders but nothing life threatening. (I crawled completely under it and looked around) with iirc 144k. Factory non bumper(1st one I've seen in person btw) Other is a dark blue 86 all bed chrome intact with the pop things for the tonnue cover option but no cover. 12xk on the clock. Dented up d/s door missing trim on whole d/s. About the same rust as the 85 and passed the climb under test as well I talked to one of the employee's and they said NOT FOR SALE. But the owner of the lot told me $1400 on two seperate occasions for either one. I hate that it comes to me considering another Brat, but while messing underneath mine for the ej22 swap I was not happy at all with what I found... We'll leave it at that because I am still very upset that my baby is probably not road worthy anymore... So with research in my head and these two sitting down there smiling at me, I'm thinking of offering the lot owner $1000 for either one, and will have cash in hand monday when I get the rest of the money from selling a honda car. All the ej work will be quickly transfered over when its completely ready to run. Help me please. If he doesn't take it anybody semi local have a decent Brat they'd sell?

An alternative to the $200 aem fpr is a b&m. I've got one from my integra that i'm going to put on a spare ej22 fpr just to try it out. Not to mention the B&M is only about $60.

This one works pretty good. Even tells how far off the speedo will be http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html -
1 and 2 look like a/c bracket mount and plugs 3 looks like the spot where the preheat hose goes on carb models for all I know 4-6 are also a/c relatdr plugs for the other various stuff that it would have 7 iirc is the service check on the ea82... I'm not sure about that though edit... if its not conected and not causing problems its not a problem

People Have thrown the wrx turbo on the ea82t's. If they can do it why can't an ea81t hold it, thats my reasoning anyway.
-
I'm with him. I don't think it'll matter much. The exhaust doesn't change from one side of the turbo to the other. I think you should go nuts and do a wrx turbo and intercool it. Maybe a small front mount or a awic. Just to see what it can do. Stock wastegate for the td04's is 9psi iirc.

The 83 brochure I have says for a gl 4wd its it 2405 with a manual trans -
The motor and driveline is worth that and then some man. I had a buddy describe the 91 SS I bought over the phone. He must have a higher standard than I, because he said it was really rough. Anyway, we went bought it for $200 brought it home. Didn't see it in daylihgt for 3 days because of a f'd up work week. If you've got the money to spend on it and it runs good you can't go wrong.

A hello and my new 79 Wagon

Is the ea71 that much lighter than an ea81? Putting the ej22 in my Brat didn't change at all how it sits like a heavier motor should. I've done some "bigger motor" swaps in other make where the car will drop a noticable distance up front. -
Well through my connection at the parts store I can get just about everything I'd need for under 300. No struts front or rear, But thats no biggy. Besides I'm selling a honda saturday:grin:

The manual "should" have 4.11's my 95 brighton did. Auto "should" be 3.90 I noticed on mom's 98 today that it also didn't have a sticker and I was wondering about it myself. At least its not alone

Good lookin car man. As far as engine. If you can get a ej22 to fit the ej22t will fit because it has the same external size with the exception of the turbo on the back. Good luck. -
EJ22 Brat Swap, couple questions for those who have done it
86BRATMAN replied to 86BRATMAN's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
From what I can remember from when I put on obd1 motor into obd2 car I had to swap out most all the sensors between the two. Most plug up differently, but I don't see why it won't work -
Don't know of the adapter. But you can fit xt6 hubs to convert it
