Well according to Chilton the er27 has 7.7:1 comp ratio

In an EA82 car there really isn't any real modification to the trans crossmember needed, use the stock front and rear pieces with a wrx center section, it all bolts together pretty easily

Brat cosmetics Q's (rear bumper for 83, map pocket)

I don't think he'll be finding any "BRAT 1800" badges here, we got "BRAT 4WD" badging as opposed to the "1800 4WD" overseas -
My gen2 brat could hang with a 4.0 HO Jeep Cherokee with Intake manifold swap, header, and full wxhaust system from 45-85 on a rolling start

Agreed, However "fast" is relative to the vehicle in question more than a set standard

As far as I know all 82's had the chrome, and some 83 dl's got them, Both my driver and passenger side in all the Brats I've had have had the plastic "pocket" on them, all of mine were gl tho. Look for two door or hatch door panels. -
Brumby conversion: EJ22, hybrid AWD center lock, SUCCESS!!!

Well Magnaflow makes sonething very similar to that muffler design, I would suggest however going with a little bigger than 2'' exhaust, thats just a big choke hold on an ej motor. A good medium would be 2.25", good low end torque, decent top end power. My 95 brighton wagon actually picked up a good bit from that size pipe, it may suit your needs a little better. -
WRX1AB, maybe you should go look around in the retrofitting section before you make sure outlandishly stupid statements i.e.

dag, looks like you have got a lot done quick, its looking great man:headbang: -
Agreed, I've fought with this kind of mind set for years now, present company excluded, nobody really knows much about these cars in general. One redneck here once asked me what the hell I did to my elcamino when i had my white brat. And I'm currently involved in an arguement on another chat board with a bunch of neon owners laughing at the possiblity of a fast old subaru

having owned several of each, (two integras, and two civics) and 2 brats, three legacies, i can tell you that a honda without vtec feels like riding my 90 wagon on three cyls, actually in my wagon with a bad plug i out ran a honda non vtec. now as far as vtec, dohc vtec is the only way to go, i could out run my buddies 13 sec wrx from a role but he owned me off the line and owning both i feel more safe and secure in a subioe any day of the week, I'd honestly rather take a hit in a rotted out brat that an early 90's civic

Where's the mud, lol That is a damn good looking rig man, how is the view from up there

I'm thinking the ea82t made 111hp stock, and the wrx type ra is rated at 276hp by subaru, but some beleive it makes more. For comparison a stockk 02-03 wrx usually puts down 165-175 awhp, and it is rated at 227 crank

My mom's legacy will willingly bounce itself off governor for as long as you want it too, i think its at 112 or so
-
Have any of you guys every ran these cars at a drag strip? I would almost bet a lot of money that the rx here would be a twelve second car easy
-
Drive an STi and tell me subarus aren't fast
-
Yeah i've read somewhere about that as well. If you have a turbo ej use a turbo crossmember, n/a use an n/a chrossmember. The n/a version has spots for the y pipe to pass under, and the turbo does not

EA81 story... My brother had an 82 2wd sedan quite about 12 or so years back. He was going to a bowling league thing one night after work, about 10 pm. He came up to a t-intersection and began slowing down because he had the red at that time. Before he came completely stopped the light turned green, so without really looking he went ahead though the light, turning to the left. Just as he was out into the other road a lady in a late 80's early 90's mid size sedan was running her red light at 40 mph. According to him he was probably going no faster than 10mph. The sedan hit his car dead on the drivers side front corner with the middle area of her car. Shifted the front of his car over pretty good, maybe 4-6 inches, bowwing the hood and spidering the windshield. Both of the cars were totalled, her front end pushed leanly into the engine, which at that point resided in the firewall. Both walked away with minor bruising and soreness.

Damn right, if it weren't for my dad showing me what goes where and does what, way back when I was barely taller than the grill of the 84 wagon, I don't know where my passion would have found itself. Because of him I was inspired to work on anything and everything I could. Not always making the situation better, but thats where he would come in. And still does from time to time.
