  1. That I'm not sure, I haven't had to deal with a bad one in a very long time.
  2. The 98-01 impreza L has the exact same headlights as the RS of the same year, the hood will swap over just fine. They list them like that because scooped hoods were not standard for the L model.
  3. Yeah, it is. I finally broke down and went to look at it lol. Got it for much less than he was asking. I need to make a ride thread one of these days.
  4. A couple of you may already know that I'm back in the ea81 world these days. Been a long time since I found one solid enough to purchase out here in VA. Anyways, I have an 84 ea81t coupe now. And like many of these 30 some year old cars the window gaskets were deteriorated pretty badly. The rear especially, all corners were leaking with any amount of rain, or a simple car wash. So much so that I've owned this car for slightly over a month and have only washed it once. I started searching immediately for a gasket solution, which many places led me to believe does not exist anymore. Flash forward a couple of weeks, I come across a seller on Australian eBay that has gaskets for what he lists as fitting the Subaru Leone 1800 GFT 2 Door. Many emails were exchanged, with detailed measurements and pictures of my car for reference. As it turns out, he has the gaskets. And is willing to ship them to the States. And that's the rear installed, 100% dead on fitment, the coupe specific window trim will fit in these things perfectly when I'm done blacking them out. So if your hardtop coupe needs window gaskets and you think there is no option available, look no further. Contact www.newoldcarcompany.com.au for your replacements.
  5. Best advice for the rust belt, anti-seize when it goes back together. My cars that are used in winter never go back together without it.
  6. Hop over to legacy central, that's going to be your best bet on finding the sensors and pigtails you need. There is no known direct replacement driveshaft for a legacy awd trans in ea81 body, that part will have to be custom built.
  7. Really loving the progress you've made man. Really an inspiration. Makes me realize I need to stop being lazy and start a new build thread.
  8. You'll need xt6 parts, legacy hubs are different. If you can find a 4wd xt6 you can use the complete rear trailing arm in place of your fwd rear arms.
  9. I had an 88 xt, 5 spd, push button 4wd, non-turbo, that had factory air suspension. It was easy enough to convert to standard suspension. It never had any trouble running highway speeds, or jaunting up the mountain roads around here.
  10. You do need the avls components. But you cannot use those heads on the ej20 shortblock. Best bet is to just get two jdm ej25s and go that route. Using the ej25 heads on the ej20 will lead you to another engine replacement in short order. I've been doing this stuff for 15 years, guarantee I've built more motors than your engine importer.
  11. You don't want to put the ej25 heads on the ej20. The combustion chamber is roughly 5mm wider than the bore, leave the heads on the Jdm engine and swap intake manifolds and sensors.
  12. Superpro makes polyurethane replacements for the ea81 radius rod bushings.
  13. The biggest reason that there arent more dohc swaps in the ea81 chassis is because of the narrow frame rails. The only engines that fit without body modification is the 90-98 sohc motors. This does however include the ej22t from the 91-94 legacy sport sedan and touring wagon.
  14. They also ignore messages asking about shipping to the US, I asked several days ago if they'd be willing to send a pair of front and rear gaskets for the ea81 coupe over here for myself and a friend.
  15. I'm considering the MS route with my newly acquired ea81t coupe. Any recommendations for a setup or options with this thing?
  16. 11044AA642 04-06 sti is the head gasket of choice for this build. The ej251 gaskets are crap, and will blow in fairly quick fashion.
  17. Still very interested in a pair. Hope this is still in the works.
  18. Phase 2 ej222's don't use the same pistons or rings as the 90-98 ej22e. 99-01 ej22 rings are 1.2mm/1.2mm/2.5mm, 90-98 ej22 rings are 1.2mm/1.5mm/3mm.
  19. I've not seen any stock replacement phase 2 ej22 pistons on the market. Only thing available is oem, and they are not cheap. The rings for those pistons are also only available from the dealer.
