  1. You can, you'll need a 98+ master cyl and hard-line at minimum. Ideally you'd get the bracket and clip as well. You can't use your existing master cyl because the line comes out on the opposite side.
  2. Not that they are showing, but it's not the first time I've seen opposedforces lack a part number.
  3. I meant the part number you have, sorry should have been more specific. I also saw the pic of it on Facebook. Is it leaking from both sides of the damper? If not you can use the good line to bypass the damper, it's really not needed and will have improved clutch feel without it.
  4. I checked on opposedforces.com, for whatever reason they don't have the part number for the older style clutch lines. I can tell you what you have is for the 98+ style system which has a hard line from the master and soft line to the slave.
  5. This could be good. http://asheville.craigslist.org/cto/4546799866.html
  6. 1986 Subaru Brat - $1700 http://tricities.craigslist.org/cto/4493836731.html One picture, looks kinda rough subaru 4x4 - $1300 http://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/4523709524.html again, looks rough There were a some others a few weeks ago but appear to be gone. I'll try to keep my search open for older models more often, I've been mainly looking for bad motor/transmission cars.
  7. There are a few scattered around on Craigslist in our general area, when I do my daily search I'll post up any I find.
  8. I've had vehicles that have ran worse with premium than regular, but if premium is all you can get without ethanol I'll support that decision.
  9. You're actually hurting things running higher octane than required, not to mention wasting money on premium. I run my 97 5mt L on 87 non-ethanol exclusively. I average 27-28 in town and 31-32 highway.
  10. I believe these are set up like the 25d, which has one shim placed in the bucket. Shims of vary in thicknesses and the bucket is a constant. You could calculate the thickness you need to get it back in spec and order the single shim from subaru.
  11. I thought this was going to be about an ej20k. But you have my attention.
  12. The newest outback struts you can use is 99. If you're wanting to do newer struts and springs you should look for 04-08 Forester suspension, lift will be more than standard outback because the forester uses a longer spring as well. If you really want to firm up the ride as well go for a set of Forester XT struts and springs.
  13. You can get the struts for cheaper on eBay. http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=310275281324&alt=web It lists them as not being for the outback model. But since your 95 is not the lifted version they will be exact replacements for yours.
  14. Just how adventurous/skilled are you? Because there is always the wrx ecu swap http://www.rs25.com/forums/f105/t199059-diy-wrx-ecu-swap.html
  15. You'll also need to remove the speed sensor from the new trans, and install your cable in its place.
  16. The ej25 clutch has a higher clamping force than the ej22, they are interchangeable though. Your choice.
  17. I've had worn axles cause that type of shimmy as well, but if it were me I'd get those bushings fixed before they rip completely apart.
  18. fairtax, do you know offhand what the specs on that resistor is? I know I've seen it posted before but can't seem to find it anywhere now, that is the next thing I'm going to try on my friend's car.
  19. The 98 rs is still phase 1 transmission, you will need to swap your rear diff as this will be a 4.44 final drive car. I don't think there were any major changes to the plugs in any of the phase 1 transmissions so you should be good to go.
  20. Gary, that thread says it'll only work with 99-09, do you know of one that would work like that for the 95-99 ecus
  21. I have a friend who feels your KS pain, we've been working with his problem for a couple weeks to no avail. So I have no real insight to that part of the issue. What I can tell you is that you need a blue tooth scanner with SSM capabilities to read our ecu completely. Elm327 protocol scanner is not equipped with the coding needed for pre 00 subaru ecus. There are options out there for this but they are not cheap like the bafx unit you have, or the no name pos I have lol.
