  1. You need to get an unequal length header. The stock one is equal the ngth, which evens out the exhaust pulses and kills the rumble. There are plenty of them on eBay, they're usually listed for the98-05 2.5rs, but they will fit.
  2. I'm wanting to say that is a member's car. I can't place which one though.
  3. Merry Christmas everyone. Hope everything has safe travels and happy times with family.
  4. You should probably cross Mazda off your list, they're more Ford than anything. I'd personally recommend a Honda over a Nissan any day of the week, if it were me in this search I'd be looking at Subaru, Toyota, and Honda.
  5. I follow them on Facebook, Jeremy posted a month or so back about the new season. I hope it hasn't been canceled, love that show.
  6. It's a stop leak, personally I wouldn't touch the stuff no matter what SOA has to say about it.
  7. Who would you guys recommend sending injectors to for cleaning and testing. I've got either 12 or 14 I could send off to get a matched set back, does anyone give any credit for extra cores?
  8. Your best option for tire to strut clearance is 96-99 outback or 04-08 forester struts, 98-03 forester rear struts are shorter. You can use the outback struts with your existing springs and mounts for a 1.5-2.0 inch lift, using 96-99 outback rear trailing arm brackets you can run up to a 27" tire without too much trouble.
  9. I've been driving subarus in all sorts of conditions since I was 11 years old. Dad taught me to drive a stick shift on an 84 wagon, by 13 I was driving on back roads all year round in that same wagon. My first winter was spent with an 86 brat, since then I've had about 20 different vehicles ranging from Toyota trucks to random front wheel drives from Honda, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Ford, and a few front wheel drive Subaru cars. I have never had any trouble with any of the subaru cars fwd or awd but none of the others except for the 4wd Toyotas could get anywhere near my house when there is snow and ice on the ground. And I'd love to see you get a Buick Lacrosse up my driveway in the crap my Legacy will do it in.
  10. The almost stall after a reset is normal as well. Just changed an o2 sensor on my mom's 04 and deleted the code. First start it died completely.
  11. It's 200 at the crank, I'm not sure what it puts to the ground stock. edit: looks like by that dyno graph it puts a hair over 160 hp to the ground stock...
  12. Wow that is quite a bit of coolant, my mom's 04 goes through that every oil change and I'm not really happy about it.
  13. Ivan brings up a good point, asking around can often lead to good results. There aren't many members here who live down through that area that I know of. So your local guys, other subaru owners, might be more helpful.
  14. This doesn't really sound like torque bind to me, it should do the same thing either direction the wheel is turned. My first inclination is the axle, wouldn't be the first time an aftermarket axle has failed in a subaru. They are notoriously inferior to oem.
  15. There is a guy on one of the legacy forums who dyno'd something like 130whp on a similar setup. I'm not sure the exact details other than ej251 block ej222 heads in a 99 legacy L 5mt. He does have intake and exhaust mods.
  16. The white flaps feed the center and side vents, the single one behind there is for the defrost panel.
  17. On a side note, Ivan I sent you a pm about a part a week or so ago if you could check that and get back to me.
  18. Yeah, you got it. The only difference will be that the heads will still be single port, which kinda limits the header options versus the dual port ej25 heads. I would say there would be a slight difference in cam profile between 2.2 and 2.5.
