  1. 06 was the first year of the avls system across the board on the sohc engines.
  2. I have a friend who works at one of the Subaru dealerships in NC. He has the modern equivalent of the old endwrench pdfs in his information packet from when he was hired he said he'll get me a picture of tomorrow if need be. It also states 1/4" circumference.

  4. I work for Advance Auto, we got in some of the 0w16 on yesterday's shipment in the Carquest house brand oil. So far we haven't seen or heard of it from any other manufacturer.
  5. I was looking for some a while back, I ended up getting two sets and never using them lol. Ben is in NZ, but there are several helpful guys from AUS. Hopefully they'll be able to find the tcu you need.
  6. If you're on Facebook you may be able to get some help finding the vtd tcu you're looking for from some of the Australian and New Zealand members on the subaru pages. Ben Thurgar has been a good source of parts for many people in the last few years.
  7. Sealing problems are directly related to people bending the pan lip when removing it, and not getting all the old rtv off both pan and transmission. The problem with the phase 2 tcu swap is that it will be expecting to see signals that phase 1 ecus do not send. I've tried running a 97 and 98 25d ecu in a 99 GT for testing purposes. Both put the tcu into limp mode despite all 3 being "phase 1 ecus".
  8. Like Gloyale said. Those are ea81 components, so it's a 4 speed dual range transmission
  9. Correct, but the ej255 D25 heads are fine on a ej22 shortblock. Their chambers are just shy of 97mm at their widest point The ej22e does not have thicker sleeves than the ej205 though. The 205 is 10mm and the ej22e is 8.5mm.
  10. Google search Dakota digital subaru and it'll turn up the link. I forget this forum breaks links sometimes.
  11. If you wanted to use a turbo ecu, and can get the appropriate wiring harness for the engine, I can do the harness work. I've done several swaps and harness merges over the last few years. An ej20k into a 97 legacy, jdm avcs ej205 into another 97 legacy, usdm ej205 into 00 2.5rs, v7 ej207 into 05 sti, v7 ej207 into 07 wrx, ej20y into 05 legacy gt with fully functional dual avcs, and most recently a ej207 into my 84 hardtop. We're also pretty close in location, only a couple hours between us.
  12. Look at the Dakota Digital sgi-5 or the vsspro. They are devices that tap into abs speed sensors and convert it to a signal that the speedometer and ecu can read.
  13. Aside from the spammy spammer post. You'll have to "massage" the frame rails for the ej22 to fit, otherwise the valve covers will not clear. Not sure exactly what you will have to do with the pedal box, but my ea81 did need some mods to use the correct cable with my ej trans.
  14. Will fit if you have a legacy postal wagon, but everything else that GD said is true.

  16. Your parts are from an ea81 car. Trade with the guy above lol.
  17. Subaru made an mpfi ea82, was in XT non turbo and some gl-10s.
  18. Wal-Mart oil is currently bottled by Amalie Oil Company.
  19. 90-95 ej22 heads are all the same, dual port hla. Except for 95 automatic driver's side head will be tapped for egr, which doesn't matter in your case but someone would have corrected me on that.
  20. Is your car powered by the ea71/81? If so order axles for an 84 brat.
  21. Also interested in seeing the brat, and knowing your asking price.
  22. My statement is not meant to say the oil is good or bad. Just to state the flaw in your arguement about why it is bad. Oil testing is done quite regularly these days. Find some up to date results to back up your statement. Supertech, carquest, and a few other "house brand" oils are currently made by the Amalie Oil Company. That should give you enough information to look up some current test results and make an informed decision.
