  1. only the fwd impreza used different axles. as long as you're talking legacy they are the same
  2. Wow man thats a hell of a bend. Pm me if you need a replacement. I'll send you one for the price of shipping.
  3. Fuel tank will be needed as well... One of our forum mods has done it, Legacy777 here is his web page with the write up http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/swap/swap.html
  4. What year is your cousin's car? Back when I was 16-17 I was looking for a good used subaru for my daily, and ran across a 93-94 that had the dual range in it. Knowing what I know now I would have jumped all over it, but I didn't want a wagon at the time. They also had a similar story about the dealer wanting it back after they had bought it. This was my first time really looking at a legacy so I didn't know it was anything special coming from the ea81/ea82 cars all my life.
  5. recent discussion on the subject http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/135903-ej251-in-place-of-ej25diac/
  6. could I also suggest looking at the general grabber at2 for tires, almost identical tread pattern as the bfg's and much cheaper.
  7. I think all these other cats didn't get the memo about the stant tstat you used being oe equivalent. I missed it too until a few weeks ago when someone brought the thread back to life.
  8. are those dealer photo? looks like a pretty awesome ride, tell me more about those wheels
  9. any gen2 brat with rear seats had the step, so 82-85 have them, 86 and 87 don't
  10. The 83's have the straight bar grill instead of honeycomb
  11. I'm going to say 84/85 because I can see the kick step and it has the honeycomb grill. Best of luck.
  12. give me through the weekend, I might have one around here, but it's just too cold to get out right now
  13. Welcome to the forums, I really like your sedan, I've not seen many of them in 4wd form. Looking forward to seeing some more pictures of your cars.
  14. If you had talked to a competent parts man he would have known that awd clutches and transfer clutches are the same thing. I'm a little harsh on other parts people who don't know common language for different parts of a car. Being a parts guy myself makes it that much worse lol.
  15. Yeah, I'm a troll, active user since 2003.
  16. I obviously didn't know your set up since I had to go and look up your topics. Reading directly from your post it lends the impression that you did not have body spacers. Me personally, I'd rather give advice on the side of caution a go all out you'll be fine attitude.
  17. looks like a classic outback paint scheme, but lowered. it's definitely the newest body style though
  18. yes, salt is the devil. I'd rather just drive on spoob roads or stay home than have the kind of damage that the junk causes to our cars, you've got your work cut out for you. About time to invest in a welder, or beer for a welder friend lol.
  19. The platforms are similar enough to warrant his warnings. I brielfy had a ~3" strut lift from a forester on my legacy. I pulled it off until I can source a set of outback body blocks because I started hearing some abnormal cv noise.
  20. Just looked back at his threads and he definately has SJR blocks in his legacy.
  21. There is a gas powered brat go-cart about 3 hours from me for sale, I can't justify spending the money on it when I'm saving for a full size version lol. http://roanoke.craigslist.org/bar/3653535794.html
  22. firstly, nice looking wagon you have there, look forward to your progress with it. second most of us would have slapped an ej22 in place of the ej25 and called it a day. I am interested to see the long term results from this one.
