86 Stock GL 4X4 Wagon - Original Owner

From your description of the air cleaner, you definately do have the carb'd ea82. And welcome to the site, and I must say that I admire your dedication and love for your car. Does he have a name? -
I just want to say, 17x8's wasn't the best choice...
-
He's clear across the state of NC. Probably about 4.5 hours from Mt. Airy IIRC.

I ran 205/40/17's on my various integras and never bent a rim, If you drive careless and don't watch for potholes then yeah you'll bend one. Search for posts and pictures by rguyver. He has 17's on his brat with a 5 lug swap, running 225 somethings and no trouble...

They haven't got all the bugs worked out with the new/old site just yet. New user activation is one of them... For now people like us just need to post on the temp site. -

Exhaust (Y) help for CA 1981 BRAT needed

I don't know specificaly for gen1's. But the gen 2 y pipes I've seen have had a plug for the o2 sensor. Maybe he could just find one and put the sensor in it. -
But you can clearly see the composite headlights.

Buy it and don't look back. It won't stay around long at that price.

It'll have the ej18, rock solid motor. As long as the car is in good shape, and maintainence records are up to date it won't need much of anything for a while. Figure at about 120K it'll be ready for a timing belt, at that time check the idlers and probably do a water pump. I wouldn't think of giving any more than $1500 for the car though. They can be found with awd in that price range if you shop around some.

I don't think its a requirement. If it is I haven't read it yet. I did the 2-pot front swap from a 91 turbo on my mom's 98 L a couple weeks ago now. The difference was absolutely amazing. On the other hand, money is tight, and there is nothing wrong with drum brakes. My 95 brighton would stop just as well in the snow as my 90 ls wagon. Both non-abs, both manual, but the 90 had rear discs.
