  1. Honestly, it wouldn't be much more than the engine wiring. All the stuff intertwines together, you can just leave that big cluster of wires in there... But why would you want a turbo motor with an autotragic?
  2. Nope, I do believe you'd be welcome in just about anything. You go to these kind of things for the fellowship, not just the car. There was a 2.5RS in the subie line-up from this past one, right in there with the door stops and [insert cute name for svx here].
  3. Very possible. He has his lowered some. And somewhere on the web I saw a much lowered Turbo Baja.
  4. Yeah. Whichever car I choose to eventually swap in my ej22t, I've got the 4.11 5mt from a 90 LS wagon. Just make sure you match the clutch type to the trnasmission. N/a=push, turbo = pull. For push style like mine, clutch options for 2.5RS would be the best way to go.
  5. Thats the plan ol' buddy:burnout: I've done a few door swaps here and there, the passenger door on the hatch was done single handedly and it lines up better than one I've never touched on the driver's side. And thats right, Dragon(or wherever the meet ends up next year) I'll be there:banana:
  6. Thank Daeron... You have me scratching my head going, huh? Lol, I get the basic principal of how it operates, just I have no experiance whatsoever of troubleshooting problems in the fuel injection department. I tested continuity through the engine harness and all wires checked out. For the car harness(which BTW WTF were they thinking putting the ecu in the trunk???) I do believe I've got an issue with the ground wires from the ecu to the injectors. I ran out of light before I could recheck all my findings. But pins 60 and 61 both peg the ohm meter. I didn't know which one controlled which injectors so I checked them both. I am also aware that my meter is very simple in function and quite possibly older than me. So I may try to borrow a new one from my friend at advance tomorrow.
  7. I'd find an ej transmission, or a ft4wd ea/er tranny. Your 5psd d/r will not like the hp and torque of an ej22t.
  8. Do you have a link or a picture for the ecu pinout. I don't have the fsm just yet(waiting on a reply from svxpert). And the handed down chiltons manual is well, useless.
  9. I'm sure that for a dealer to do everything you are going to do. $1200 is a low ball estimate.
  10. What part of the US is your friend coming to? This will help us in finding something to suit your needs
  11. The turbo legacy is a 3.9 VLSD. Two different beasts.
  12. By the same token we never got an ea81 dual carb motor in the states. And Datsun is Nissan. The name plate changed over in the 84/85 model years.
  13. Just about good shop should be able to do it. Just make sure they have the correct specs for it. One shop here charges about $20 to surface a flywheel, I wouldn't think it would cost much more than that.
  14. In an effort not to clog my need help thread I'll put the pics I promised of the car here. I didn't get to notice due to where it was sitting when I first looked at it, but the drivers door is banged up, but whenever I get the parts car from him that'll be taken care of. I'll post up some more when I get it running right and clean it up.
  15. Looks like a good ol' wagon. Happy late birthday:headbang:
  16. You can use the 4wd flywheel no problem. You may want to have it resurfaced though. Cheap insurance against pulling it all apart again.
  17. House of Color has some darm good paint. It will most likely not match yours completely due to fade over the years. But I know one local body shop here that can match their paint to the faded apint of your car. You might see if any near you can do this. Then you can have the paint put in aerosol cans for the spraying.
  18. Grab your 3/16 drift punch. And rotate the axle to the unfubared side, and pound the absolute hell out of it. It will come out, it will just take a bit off effort. I had the opposite problem last year, I used a 1/4 punch, and got it stuck in the stub of a legacy. And I couldn't get it to rotate enough tto get at the other end real good. I ended up borrowing the subaru tool from a tech buddy. And it came out eventually. I'd carefully consider selling the Brat. They are getting hard to come by on this side of the country, and IMHO they are well worth the effort they take to keep them up.
  19. Hello, and welcome to the site. You'll find lots of good information here, and tons of helpful people. I did a search and found this thread from earlier this year. It has a bunch of points you may want to check for the headlights. Its very possible your answer my be here. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=73195&highlight=dim+headlight
  20. Went and pulled the codes... Why am I not surpirsed... Code 14 Fuel Injector No. 1 and 2
  21. I think I have a pair of ea81t injectors, would plugging them in and "listening" tell if they are getting signal?
  22. I relocated the one on my mom's 98 last week as well. It was having the came symptoms. I believe hers to have been an overly sensative sensor. Relocated it and bam... Back to its old self. Gary, I would say you are correct for the ea/er knock sensors. But the ej/eg sensors don't thread into the block themselves, rather have a 12mm bolt that threads into the block to hold them in.
  23. Its the rear cyls that are opperating, what terminals do I check for the front?
  24. I jumped it off and ran it for about the last 25 minutes, no overheating, no coolant level drop in the radiator. Timing is correct. Getting spark to all cyls. Injectors 1 and 2 are not firing. I'm waiting on getting my multimeter from dad's house(if its still there, haven't used it in years). But the brake tubing test confirms neither of the front ones are clicking. But, both the rears, 3 and 4, are clicking and the car is running off them. Car has set for a while, maybe they are stuck?
  25. We went and got it yesterday evening. Not uploaded any pics yet. But it would seem that its running down on one cyl. not two, I could be wrong and haven't messed with it a whole lot. But the old guy I bought it from had messed with the bloody wiring so much because he thought it was a fuel injector problem that I have no idea which plug goes to which injector. And I did notice that at least one of the plug wires is junk. But I need to get a good battery in the car before I can do a whole lot.
