  1. R&R is repair and replace. I'd lean most toward looking at the knock sensor, its probably heat crack(where's that picture), and not functioning correctly. www.rockauto.com has replacements for far less than the dealer. And it can be installed in under 30 minutes if you are a slow worker.
  2. Thats an old folk lore floating around for ea81 disty's. No true to it. No idea on ea82's however.
  3. Pictures, Videos. You've got them and we want them. Thank you that is all.... Congrats man, sounds like an absolutely awesome ride.

I was going to compare stock legacy with ea82. But I can't find my ea82 piece... Seems like its longer, but not sure how much.
  5. Its been easy on my stuff to do it like I said, but I've never had one with p/w, locks, or power mirrors. Your way would be so much easier if I had. And yes the ea81's should have a connector. But the only one with speakers in the front doors stock is the brat.
  6. If your car doesn't have the abs wires held on by a bracket that bolts on with the lower strut bolts, like they are on 91-94 legacy's, you can find them from a junk yard or another member may have them.
  7. Its that they wanted to give us the looks of a wrx, but not the power. The 91-94 Turbo Legacy just simply didn't do it for american buyers. So FHI wasn't going to make the same mistake twice. But hey, if ya'll hate the scoops and stuff. Don't buy an RS or obs. buy an L coupe or wagon. Don't go throwing off on stuff that other people like just because you don't like them. With that said air horns are gay.
  8. I fixed the leak up at the manifold last night, so she doesn't sound like absolute crap...
  9. LOL, I definately missed that one... And to run the wires to where they can't be seen, tuck them up behend the glove box on the right and lower kick panel of the left. Then there should be a stock rubber tube between the door and body. Stuff the new wire through there.
  10. I like my ea81 with the hole by the resinator and in the muffler:headbang:
  11. Cat is where the pipes joint. The second is a resinator to help keep things quite. And since I fixed my blown exhaust manifold gasket today, i noticed my cat heat shield was rattling, and I've got a leak at the resinator:dead:
  12. Thats my second biggest complaint with the hatch. STD model with no itermittant speed at all... The first is I NEED a tach.... Any way back to topic...
  13. I'd love to see pics. Check out www.photobucket.com its free, will auto resize pictures for you while they load. Then all you have to do is copy the IMG code from them and post it in a thread. I'm especially interested in the crossmember and shifter setup. And what did you do about driveshaft length?
  14. Poor guy, that didn't look too promising, he must have had somebody watching over him.
  15. I may be thinking of the intermitant wiper relay.
  16. How did the tranny fit up in there? I was wondering if it'd go in nace and easy when I was looking at the tunnel... The thought I had since you kept auto is, the hole for the clutch cable is still there in the body of an auto. It's down below the brake MC, you could route your wiring into the cabin through there, and be real close to the cluster.
  17. You mentioned this brat was an auto, did you keep the auto with the swap?
  18. The only one I'm aware of is the subaru select monitor(may be named different for ea82 cars). I've never heard of one being sold, because they live that the dealer. You could looking to a standalone type ecu, Link use to be popular, but haven't heard as much mention of them in recent years. I suspect your location would be easier to source one that it would be here.
  19. Damn, thats it, you should have gotten some OB struts and springs too... Oh wait a minute...
  20. If you do go that route, make sure its as water tight of an inclosure as you can make.
  21. If the colors don't pan out, you can do what I did and plug the cluster wires in and trace the signal wire for each device to the corresponding wire and label it.
  22. I did, I didn't realize it had been as long as it has since then though.
