  1. Not if you keep your axle flex in check and don't over do it.
  2. the CEL is red w/ blue stripe oil yellow w/black stripe temp yellow no stripe tach yellow w/green stripe The VSS is a black connestor coming out of the back of the cluster from the speedo. The CEL system is different with between ea and ej systems. The ea powers the light, and the ej grounds it. Get creative. Keep in mind these colors aren't set in stone, they are from an 84 auto wagon 4x4 and may differ from the brat. But they are all on the same plug
  3. Give me a sec. I've got a dash out of one that has most all the cluster wiring labeled...
  4. Generally with tires speed rating goes along with side wall stiff ness. The v rating is some absurdly high speed for a subaru, the h is 130mph iirc. And the V rating will have stiffer sides that the H. H will give better ride quality.
  5. I'm not the god of anything... But I'm not sure saying that they know more about subaru than subaru was exactly valuable either. Just remember, it is possible for anybody to have a bad day and make a mistake...
  6. Ok, just thought I'd ask. I didn't really look at all the pics to see details on how much you took out...
  7. You could honestly get by without the second part listed. Just don't use the wires in the harness for the speakers, or at least not for two of them. I just couldn't believe that there is something made for these stock plugs. I argued for an hour with the radio shack guy about the wiring harness he tried to sell me for my Brat some years back.
  8. I just want to say.... How much trouble would it be to take the dp back off and see if the wastegate is open a little bit. And is it possible, with your porting you may have made the exhaust flow inadequite?
  9. Yes they will fit. But for the bumper you'll want to get a usdm 97-99 GT, or 98-99 L grill. Also the GT foglights will fill those holes perfectly up front. Edit to accomodate your edit::: They are the same basic bumper as the two above mentioned legacy models.
  10. Next time you run by his shop, ask him about wiring an ej22t from a 91 t-legacy into an 87 hatch back for me....
  11. I don't need to be in a magazine to know what I'm doing. If you like references I'll pm you phone numbers. I didn't do the swaps to attain glory, I did them to help my friends make their cars into what they wanted. Actually, here's a number 276-979-7097, ask for Brandon. And ask him about his 94 Accord with the H22a and who did it.
  12. Are we gonna get it here, or just another jdm car we have to dream about?
  13. Its always funny when sombody answers their own qeustion. But at least you saved me some trouble. I'm replacing mine this weekend.
  14. The switch for them is on the radiator, passenger's side IIRC. Jump the wires on it and see if they work, if not we'll talk relay.
  15. If I were to study the wiring schematics I'm sure I could do it too. I've done jdm honda motors swaps on about 10 cars in my area, making a jdm h22a out of a prelude interface with the wiring of an accord dx isn't a picnic... Anybody can do wiring under two conditions, they know what must be done, and they don't have fear when looking at a glob of messy wiring that must be shrunk and intergrated. Now, under the circumstances, take a step back and look at your previous statement and analize for yourself without the knowledge you've presented and see if it is not pretentious.
  16. I think the relay is up under the dash on the driver's side. Should be same situation with rhd and lhd cars.
  17. There is an old man down the road from me, he has worked on subaru's since the mid 70's. He knows all the ins and outs of just about every model there has been. And I've learned a lot from him in the years before this board, and still visit him from time to time just to chit chat. And I'm not willing to say he knows more about subaru that subaru, thats just dumb. More about subaru than a good percentage of the employees yes. But the company no. Unless they can tell me exactly how many damned 91-94 Turbo legacy's were imported, and give me an accurate count of many were 5mt and how many were auto. If they can do that then I'll retract my previous statement and crawl into a hole.
  18. Its on the intake manifold. Where the upper radiator hose connects. The housing is held on with 2 12mm bolts IIRC.
