I am having the same problems with a 99. It sounds like some type of a bad seal in the the Tranny which does not sounds like an easy fix. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the problem.

Does it sound about right for a Front O2 Sensor to cost $150 from the dealer? They said the with the work it would be around $300.

I still have not seen the light come back on two days later so do you think that I should still bring it in? Thanks

Hello went and started the car up this today and the light was not flashing any more. I am thinking when it was running out of gas the shifting up and down real quick is what caused the light. After sitting over night it has gone away and seems to drive ok. Let me know if you think i should still bring it in. Thanks

Ok I was just driving home the other night when my car started to not want to go and could not figure it out. My gas was low but the light was not on so I figured that I could go another 30 miles or so. I was very wrong becuase the car was not responing well at all. Turned it off and tried to turn it back on and no luck. All the lights came on so I was hoping I just ran out of gas. I had a buddy help me pick up gas and put it in and it started right up. I was driving it home and now the AT OIL TEMP light is flashing on and off so I read the book and said I need it to be looked at by Subaru Dealer. Did this just come on because I ran out of gas or did I cause a big problem by running it out of gas? Has anyone else had problems with the gas light not coming on? I am hoping tomorrow it will not be flashing anymore but what does the light really mean? This was the first time in my life running out of gas but it will never happen again because I will not wait to see a light. Thanks for any help that you can give me. The car is a 99 OBW Limited with 76,000 Automatic. I just bought the car one month ago and hope I do not have problems with it already. Thanks Chris

What kind of grease can I use to get the Antena to go up and down. It gets almost down and it stops. It just has to work in the cold so that the grease does no harden and freeze and give me more problems. Thanks for any help or ideas. Chris

Hello, I have a99 OBW and was wondering what size Hard Top Shells people have put on their car and what they think about it. I was thinking about getting a Rocket Pack by Yamakia but the guy was telling me that you will not be able to open the trunk as much. To me I see tons of people with them on their cars so it must not be that big of deal. How much does it change your gas mileage? Thanks Chris

so you put fresh oil in before you take the old filter off? I always use to drain the oil take out the oil filter then put in the new oil filter then fill back up with oil again. Anything wrong with doing it in those steps?

I just picked up a 99 OBW and was planning on changing the oil this weekend. I use to have a 88 honda Accord that had to use a certain brand of oil filter or it would not seal right. What brand oil filters and oil do most people use? Also what brands should I stay away from if any. Thanks for any help. Chris

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get 80 min cd's to play in this player? If anyone had luck with a certain type of brand 80min cds to work. All my old burned Cds that are 74 mins work great. the only problem is I cannot find anyone that has 74 min cds. I am going to look online at different place might be able to find something. Another question with this CD player. I saw that you have an option for a CD changer but does it have to be a Subaru one. Has anyone been able to put a name brand Player in? If so where is the connectors for it and how hard was it to install. Thanks for any help you can give me with this problem. Chris

Yeah I am on my first tank of gas around town and I have only gone around 200 miles and I have around 1/4 of a tank left. I just picked the car up last week so I have not been able to do to much measuring.

This is my first Subaru so I am not sure where everything is at like I did with my Honda. I do not have any problems with the car right now. I just like have the book as a Ref. guide to so me where something is located under the hood. I am glad that I found this message board because I agree they are a lot of help.

I have a 1999 Legacy Outback and can not seem to find a repair book for that year. Haynes has a book that says 1990-1998. They are usual good books but I want one that will cover my year. Does anyone else found any other good books for repairing the car? Thanks Chris

Hello all just pick up an Outback 99 Limited and so far love it. Made a Drive from Portland, Or to Fort Collins, CO in two days to pick the car up. I was wondering what type of gas people put in their Subarus that live in CO. We have 85, 87 and 91 Oct. for gas. I read in the book to use 87 but not sure what other people in the area use or think about using 85. Thanks for the any replies. Chris
