This is off topic, but it was mentioned in thread earlier. I was reading Entertainment today & Tuesday February 17th @ 8:00 on TV LAND there airing a Sid & Marty Krofft marathon, its called PUFNSTUF & STUFF. Its a chance for our kids to see what cartoons we were watching back in late 60's early 70's.

Yeah, Sunday was a mess last year. Most pulled out early because of rain & cold, it was real disappointing. I didn't even stay for for the Fiat drawing. The highlight of the day was seeing a new Volvo S60R. The volvo guys were the biggest group holdout, & their was some really cool vintage volvo's.

I think I remember him saying something about an xt6 he has been working on, maybe we'll see it this year. I know hocrest got an svx. I hope to be bringing a tlegacy this year, if not I'll be in the 84 twagon again, you should have seen the wrx heads turn when we pulled-up in the vintage stuff. Are you going to make it this year?

Bad lifter or lash adjuster...it happened to me. The valve was stuck wide open. I didn't get that bad of reading though, mine was 60psi, the other 3 were equally 120psi. Got junk-yard lifter out of hatch, popped it in, 120 across the board. I like telling this story.:cool:

You guys have way more patients than I, natural born pessimist, I know that comes as a surprise.

When I had engine out of car, I got coil wires messed-up. The car would crank but the pulser wire for injectors has to be on correct coil terminal. It took many hours to diagnose, cause I was getting spark & fuel. Snotrocket, ea81t is pushrod engine, no tbelts.

Maybe I'll have the LegacyTurbo on the road by then as well, we have till September. Hope it doesn't rain out this year. If moose gets the yard run organized, we'll all get together before then.

Its worth the work, thats the nicest xt turbo I've seen in a long time!

I had a 81 escort that got 40mpg. $40 one way from Northumberland PA to Melbourne Fla. Dam I miss that car! Rolled it drunk on rt 61 in Stonington. That was before DUI's were heavily enforced, so I gotta slap on the wrist w/ an underage drinking citation. I'm glad I grew-up before all the new laws...otherwise I still wouldn't be driving.

I agree w/ gd, I've talked to Subaru mechanics about this & they all said the same thing...you don't need to split the case to get to valve train...although they also say the old engines (ea81) su*k. I like all 3 series...for me...ea81 is most finicki.

When this happened to me, the culprit was a LIFTER went south. It was the last thing I checked, because Subaru brags about how there lifters are indestructable. Well quess what, I had a bad lifter. I was just about ready to throw in the towel when I was pissing around with the rocker arm & noticed the one arm was really spongy. Got junk yard lifter out of old hatch, popped it in, then bled it down over-night. Next morning equal compression on 4 cylinders. Hope this helps!

Some Ea82's have the same style pump. Go to advanceauto.com & cross part #'s, then get used pump from junkyard. I only suggest this, cause I hate fighting manual steering.

4for4...what did you ask for at auto parts store or was it on the shelf. My vapor seperator is a tiny metal cylinder (almost like a miniture version of my fuel pressure regulator) & mine is in-line before the fuel pump. Never seen anything like it on the shelf.
