Appreciate all the help... Is it possible for you to help me find the right name for the right rear control arm... Like when searching used auto parts and stuff....not sure what to look for when using the drop down menus... Control Arm, Rear Upper Control Arm, Rear Lower, And if I chose rear suspension, it gives me so many options my head spins...
-
Know anywhere to order these parts from? Junkyard doesn't seem to have much.

4x4moose is who i got it from...hasn't been active since november... here is a pic of the drivers side (which seems to be fine, although needing an axle of course...) and maybe a better shot of the pass side one (one were debating about)

So not a whole new hub? Just a spindle? Know where I can find these parts, pretty cheap?
-
I know I need two cv axles for the rear (to get the dual range 4wd working again, on my 1986 Subaru GL 2dr Hatchback), but looking at the pics below, what else do i need? a new rear hub?

87 electric 4wd button out
TheBush replied to Joey Joe's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well.... I did it myself. If your hooking it up to a single pole, double throw switch (which you must), the white wire is the one in the middle. Works well! -

I was wondering if you could tell me which wire colors are which. Mine is a 86 but has 4wd push button. -

Hey Which junk yard was that? I need some new seats... -
rear hatch struts. where to get them?
TheBush replied to foxgap's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If there are any in a junk yard, snatch them. I got ones that worked just like new for $5. -
Any longer and I don't think I'll be ordering one....The christmas season is coming up, very fast Robbie.

I guess I can try flushing the heater coreeee.... I just replaced the theromstat this past week, but it had the problem before and after.
-
Just wanted to clarify if my thinking was correct. Do I need a new heater core? Heater TECHNICALLY works (as does window defrost), but its only hot/warm for like 10-15 seconds. Then its cold. If you turn it off, wait a minute and then turn it back on, you get heat again for 10-15 seconds. Is it the heater core?

When are we going to get a picture of this Robbie?

Yakima Selah Junkyards??
TheBush replied to mykingcrab's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yeah, no problem. But if you're going through Weber, I suggest doing it via online. I cannot stand to go in there - the people are there are extremely rude and unknowledgable. I was looking for a hood prop for my 86 GL, and they said "we don't have any 86's, so you cannot go in the yard". I was like, are you kidding me?! It's a damn hood prop....It's almost universal on them subaru's! -

Webers is Monday-Friday I believe. They also have online inventory, at http://webers.net -
lol my bad. not the timing belt. wtf was i thinking? yeah, its the ea81 ohv. duhhhh!
-
I put in a new thermostat today for the 1986 GL Hatchback. Also put on a new timing belt. Filled it up with antifreeze and what not. It appears the radiator has a hole in it... I'm thinking that's where the problem is...?

I live less then 2 miles from Poor Boys. Right across the street from Poor Boys is Webers. Only difference is Webers won't really let you just walk in. You kind of have to know what you're looking for, because they are a lot more organized. I prefer Poor Boys, but Weber's is right across the street. -
Update on Situation #2: Car is running fine lately. Only problem is it starts to get a lot warmer when idling (such as fast food drive thru's), etc. Any other suggestions?
-
It was for sure water....You could see water drops on the under of the cap.
-
Helppppp? Is it just something with these cars, or what? Below are my two situations: 1. 1986 Subaru GL Turbo Wagon. As I'm driving the other night (25 degrees outside), the car overheats. I pull over. Go get some antifreeze + water and put it in. I'm able to make it home. But the next day driving it, I have like literally almost no heat (it worked before). I also come to find out (after taking the oil cap off) that there is water in the oil....I add oil, drive a little more, and take off the cap again....water. Blown Headgasket? Situation #2. 1986 Subaru GL Hatchback. Driving it, and it overheats. GAHH!! So I put antifreeze + water in there! And I drove it again tonight, and it overheated in the McDonald's Drivethru. (About 30 degrees outside). Btw, No water in the oil for this one. Can someone help me?

Lookin God Rob. And P.S. - I can name it whatever I wish! lol
