  1. Thanks for all the info and quick replies. Again I gotta give this forum and the folks that make it go Mucho Big kuddos. Jeff
  2. NEED the resistor pack that controls the speed of the heater fan for an 1987 gl ea82 ASAP as mechanic is pulling apart my dash next week to fix the no defrost problem, so while in there fix the motor speeds as well. Thanks Jeff PS I spent a hour or so chasing the leaking vac line(s) and seems to be back behing dash somewhere....was hoping for the easy disconected line fix but no go.
  3. I'm in the same boat, to some degree and would buy a brand new 1987 GL4WD if they were still made.....mine has 231,000 miles and has the usual nigley problems but starts stops and gets pretty go mileage 25-30. BUT the little problems some days really piss me off. So I've been lookin around and only thing I could find was a Suzuki Sidekick, not the V6 version. Good luck let us know what you find. Jeff PS driving mine 1400 miles in next few days to Baja Mexico for a couple weeks vacation!
  4. How do you reset the computer after cleaning the MAF? Cheers Jeff
  5. swapped a MAF from a good running car I also own, and that made no differance at all. Just for giggles pulled of air cleaner snorkel from throttle body and it was oily-yuky inside!! PCV blowby? Anyway cleaned it as much as I could with acetone on paper towels (didn't have any carb cleaner). Gave her a test drive and that cured 80- 90% of the stumbling! Way happy. Feels safe to drive again! Will shoot some carb cleaner in there see if that helps abit more. Cheers Jeff
  6. Yep, did try this awhile ago. Just for drill and your suggestion reminding me, tried again.......no change in rpm. Thanks anyways. Jeff
  7. 88 gl 4wd wagon SPFI sometimes stalls and or hesitates when starting off?? Seems to run fine otherwise. In fact really like the car but can't live with this!! Have done most all the usual tune-up stuff even got some MAF cleaner to see if that did anything but still wants to bog-die sometimes unless I rev her up to say 2500 revs before letting clutch in...I about got squished by a truck the other day when it did this. Anything obvious I should check? I know if I take to my local mechanic they will start replacing sensors like throwing darts hoping there is a dart board near by to hit, and then at end of the day say "GEE that doesn't make any sense" Thanks Jeff
