Well I'm finally going to have it done. The cracked HG in my 2000 OBW is going to get replaced before winter. I'm going to have a local mechanic do it, but I am going to buy the parts. Can you guys give me a list of what I'm going to have to buy for him? The timing belt and water pump have just been replaced about 15,000 miles ago, so I'm not going to have that done. Just the HG job.

I just got back from getting my codes read at Autozone and it turns out my knock sensor is what is causing my CEL to come on intermittently and unpredictably. Where is a good place to get a good knock sensor? I didn't buy one from Autozone as I've not had good luck with their parts. Any tips on putting new knock sensor on?

My CEL has been coming on sporadically for about the past 2,000 miles. The car drives fine and notice no difference in anything. I'll drive probably 300 miles and suddenly it will come on. After driving it normally it will turn off after a few times of starting it. I know I need to get the code read, but what is your best guess? It's a 00 OBW.

Driving my 00 OBW back home yesterday and a rock got kicked up by a car in front of me. The rock needless to say cracked my windshield beyond repair. I wasn't too worried about it, as I though my insurance only required $100 deductible on windshields. Unfortunetly this isn't true and I have to pay the $500 deductible. Any ideas on how much a windshield costs?

My 2000 OBW with 145,000 on her has just recently been getting a terrible exhaust smell in the cabin when driving. Could this just be the oxygen sensor that needs replaced? I don't have any problems in performance or any exhaust leaks. My guess is either the cat converter or o2 sensor. Am I probably right?

Ok I know this is very difficult to diagnose, but give me your best guess. My check engine light has started to come on. It will eventually go off, but sometimes comes back on when I start my 00 OBW. Engine seems to run fine. Today when I was stopped at a light the RPMS dropped for a second, but then went back to normal. This happened at a few other lights.Today was the first time that I noticed that. I have no idea what the problem is. Could it be an oxygen sensor, PC valve, or EGR valve? Any other ideas? Thanks!
