  1. is the 1.8 dead? I mean if it ain't broke...
  2. that was the MacGyver joke. 50 bucks?? Floor jack? can you get a floor jack for that now? I ALWAYS use my floor jack. keep it in the car.
  3. the the lowering coilovers don't hurt it any. thanks. nice to get complimented by someone who obviously knows wicked old Subarus!
  4. it's not that vintage racer... but I am quite pleased with my latest shot. tail lights... that's all you're gonna see!
  5. are the carb and tbi models really that un-peppy? my XT/DL is probably 10-12 seconds and the XT/GL part time feels 13-ish. (as in it's a bit slower) mpfi and 5 speed is boss.. not to mention the XTDL's weight. 2380. oh and just in case you think i'm exaggerating here's a turbo 3 speed Xt doing it in ten. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMlW71gmiGg by my butt-dyno compared to the video. I would put money on my DL doing that in less time than the 3 speed turbo. I have a camera. I may do my own soon. (will be harder to do not having a digi-dash) gotted me some trim-rangs from a B-R-A-T p.s. she's only shiny in the rain
  6. I voted zip tie on nasioc. I really digged that whiteout car with it's snowflakes too though.
  7. Would love a pic of these adjustable front springs.... I have only had xts so I have never seen them.. Sounds neat.
  8. Hello neighbor.

  9. Hey... I ran my escort zx2 with no lines and open for 2 years with no Ill effects. The best thing though (aside ftom a,proper man. Rack) is a small loop. Keeps the insides lubed(and clean). I am afraid bolts might make it hard to turn.
  10. Now here's a thought.... The coil over springs are about the same size (diameter) as rear springs. You could add the sleeves and perches with stock rear springs to gain height... And you'd be able to lower it back to (almost) stock. Just lift, change wheels and hit the trail...
  11. Hey miatadude! Pm me. What subaru do you drive?
  12. He wants a lift he can lower for the street. Honestly having 2 cars would be simpler.
  13. That's interesting. Also... Didn't realize the d/r fulltime didn't come out till 87.
  14. this is why I buy XTs glass is good. but my girlfriends eclipse... yowch...
  15. what are the options? I know the XT6 is 3.9 and I woudl need turbo axles. but is there a fulltime manual non-turbo non XT6 option. I don't care about dual range... but i'll take it... this is from indy's site... I am not sure which of these to look at. also I knew the gearing was shorter on my DL the 2wd has a 3.9 instead of a 3.7 can anybody help me by pointing out which is fulltime.. and maybe telling me what car to look for? 1986 4spd D/R 4WD ea81 3.636 1.950 1.193 0.769 3.583 1.462 3.900 1987 4spd D/R 4WD ea81 3.636 1.950 1.193 0.769 3.583 1.462 3.900 1988 4spd D/R 4WD ea81 3.636 1.950 1.193 0.769 3.583 1.462 3.900 1989 4spd D/R 4WD ea81 3.636 1.950 1.193 0.769 3.583 1.462 3.900 1985 5spd D/R 4WD ea82 3.545 1.947 1.366 0.972 0.780 3.416 1.592 3.900 1986 5spd D/R 4WD ea82 3.545 1.947 1.366 0.972 0.780 3.416 1.592 3.900 1987 5spd D/R 4WD ea82 3.545 1.947 1.366 0.972 0.780 3.416 1.592 3.900 1988 5spd D/R 4WD ea82 3.545 1.947 1.366 0.972 0.780 1.592 3.900 1988 5spd D/R 4WD ea82T 3.545 2.110 1.448 1.088 0.871 1.196 3.700 <- I feel like this is the RX box? yeah? 1988 5spd 2wd ea82T 3.545 2.110 1.448 1.088 0.871 3.700 1988 5spd 2wd ea82 3.636 1.950 1.344 0.971 0.783 3.900 after putting this here and reading it back... I think what I am actually looking for is the single range 87.5 turbo box that isn't listed here... sometimes after I post it just clicks in my head.
  16. I never have. it's literally just a bump on the starter. and that's never been enough to crank my car. even then... the bolt would unscrew and the bar would fall to the floor. anything more than that happening isn't too likely... you should have the acc. belts off at that stage anyway. so the pulley would also just fall to the floor. not saying that being safe about it isn't better. just I never bother.
  17. this... especially since then you need no XT6 parts for the front... I am in a parts gathering phase. it's not the EA/EJ knuckles that are interchangeable. it's that ANY EJ hub is swappable for any other EJ hub or is swappable with eh xt6 hub (except I hear EJ outer CVs don't exactly work with XT6 hubs). I see how the wording on that confused you though.
  18. Super cooling a dent can make it pop back out. It shrinks the stretched metal back into shape.
  19. Painted plenty of alloy wheels before. And painted steels (just to freshen the black) Never had to deal with rusty steels.
  20. I appreciate all the input. and yeah GD is way to far away from me. I think I like the wire wheel rusoleum plan. when all is said and done this car will be 5 lug. maybe next year? (been saying that for 2 years now though)
  21. With the fan... Get out a second 10 mm wrench and hold the fan still with one of the other bolts.
  22. okay that helps. as I am not in the rust belt I don't own a wire wheel. but I can get one... haha.
  23. what kind of shop am I looking for... will a body shop blast and paint/powder coat? do any of you guys on the forum do it? ya know Scooby pal discount or something? just some ol brat wheels.
  24. you guys gotta quit showing off these 3 doors... I am really wanting one.
