  1. it's not moving in and out when I push the clutch (now that I have a cable back) so I think I was over-reacting. needs a rear main and a clutch really bad now, though! time to tear in!
  2. so my clutch cable snapped... and I have had to drive to work in 2nd for a couple of days.. no big it's 1/3 of a mile if that. but since I haven't been using the pedal, I don't get that leaky oil spot under the car??? no slippage either (maybe the cable was sticking?) is it possible that my engine leak oil when the clutch pedal is pushed? and only then? I am going to check for flywheel movement with clutch disengagement tomorrow after I put the new cable in. opinions? is this just dumb?
  3. well that took long enough! that tow bar set up is sweet... I am going to make one! and buy a truck... and then... in ten years I'll be able to get another suby.
  4. I read about some procedure where you rock the car to get it to un-stick.
  5. my portable impact is one of my best purchases ever... it was about 80 when my friend bought it from the tool truck.
  6. if you could lower that deck so the line lines up, and then put a skirt under the door that might look pretty cool! just a thought... looks to be in good shape..
  7. center of the dash behind the radio on my 86... hard to get to. I could feel it clicking there but couldn't quite see it.
  8. mine's and 86 so it might not be the same as yours.... but I'll go narrow it own for you right now...
  9. haha Daleks!!! ^^^ EXTERMINATE!!!
  10. I'd ground the pump to the body and see if it works that way. then you know if you have a bad hot or a bad ground. next step would be to re-run which ever wire isn't working!
  11. or you could run a battery disconnect... not a bad idea anyway if you're doing any kind of motorsports (in my eyes "wheeling" is a motorsport).
  12. it's under the dash... not sure after that. sorry http://subaruxt.com/forum/ try that... and a search and welcome!
  13. must see pics of your off road XT! also http://subaruxt.com.forum check the relay it's under the dash.
  14. take one with you to an auto parts store... you can find some to get you through til you come up with some from a yard or a member... those bolt boxes autozone sells are quite often a godsend and wonderful to just have on hand.
  15. will other EA seats bolt in to my XT? sorry for not searching but I only got about ten minutes of net time all day.
  16. most likely allows shifting to neutral with out the key. (for repossessions)
  17. if you got a short you likely got the ecu or the module.... etc etc... start from the cheapest things and proceed.
  18. you realize you can unplug that switch right?
  19. EJ18 improve your power and fuel consumption while greatly increasing your chance of finding parts.. just an opinion I understand these old carbs are finicky and hard to keep with maintenance-wise
  20. looks like I'll be in Nashville tuesday... hit me up!
  21. cool dual carbs! I was thinking about how you'd get dual TBs on an EA82 the other day, lol...
