people are putting EJs in bugs... what about something from a porsche in a subaru? people are religious about them so there must be something good about the Engines, yeah?
-
yeah you'll be on the verge of grenading the 2.5 on the 1.8 management.. (or are you going to use a 2.5 computer and I missed it) you will have to run high test fuel and watch the higher revs... I have a friend who does circle track in the dirt... he runs a Neon and spins it to 11KRPM it's stupid! (maybe you should go for higher revs for less shifting?)
-
I'm interested.... did you order it?
-
um... can I send you my XT.... and have you do it up like that?

looks like the O2 sensor hook up to me

zukiru replied to idosubaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
run without a MAF? mine dies instantly. -
if he uses the 95 computer and sensors... that's stock EFI.... sort of.... and by "mustangs are over teched" I think that means "I can't get away with any little cheats" which is not bad in that kind of motorsport (I am unfortunately from Alabama and know this) it's more like common practice.... you fudge a little or get lapped...

he never said he couldn't do an engine swap... in fact he is doing one... (but yeah I know the weight difference is negligable once you start stripping it/modding) I just think that would be cooler... lol do you have pics of the Race car?

you have to take the wrist pins out. the pistons only slide out of the head side of the block.

look at it first... it may look like swiss cheese underneath. take what you are willing to spend... start low on your offer! good luck and happy haggling!

think it would have been better if it couldn't leak there... (like if it was one piece) I only feel this way, though cause mine is leaking there.
-
yeah I couldn't find any xts with 15 pugs either... saw one with 14 inch pugs.... just ordered some 2wd loyale struts.... (one of mine is blown and contributes to the rubbing...) if I am correct the 2wd loyale strut should be a little taller than the 2wd XT ones... and will give me a subtle bit of extra clearance

just had a nice thought... EA series cars are lighter than imprezas.... just a thought...
-
actually the legacy tranny uses the 25 spline axles and the bigger clutches. (so go with the legacy tranny clutch and axles)
-
I can do it in 3... Odd.
-
why do the rules outlaw RWD IRS?? that rules out a lot of cool cars... are they trying to keep the mustangs from getting romped?
-
you beat me to it... I was merely going to say this though, IDIOT! lol what ever were you thinking? or were you thinking?

I have a manual impact driver too... quite handy and fits in my little bag. I have this bag about the size of the shoe box from a pair of low-top chucks... I pulled a transmission with the tools in it... lol yeah this is from the 85 XT in the montgomery AL pull a part I keep going on a bout.. sad too cause it's complete, no rust and all the panels are straight... it's even black.... but by the time I get too it with money it may be crushed.. I am hoping I can get the motor quickly enough,... but it looks like it will be monday at the soonest. if I was sure I had a few more weeks I'd get the straight black door and fender too...
