  1. I never could figure out having both... it's wierd... Map FTMFW though.
  2. no mine's fine the question was more for curiosity's sake! the bad power band is likely caused by the difference in igniton timing and lack of boost... which means there is a difference in the ecus... even thought people have said they are the same (including chiltons)
  3. yeha I saw that after... the brat is an EJ18 which is also cool!
  4. she had the louvers off for a while... while cleaning it up.. I wish I had an invoice to look at! lol!
  5. cruise control is an okay tool... the truth is you will get better mileage out of a pulse and glide scenario.... pulse to 75 then neutral glide down to say 45 (or the slowest you feel safe with) then pulse to 75 again.. this really does help.. that along with extra high tire pressures (I run 50 psi in the thirteens) makes for a rough ride... but my glides are much longer with over inflated tires. the XT's low CD makes it one of the best pulse and glide cars. (I didn't hypermile the Dragon trip, either)

  10. I did the dragon trip on 80 bucks gas total... 32 mpg average. 70 on the highway and 2nd and 3rd gear for 200 miles of dragon running... (I was taking it fairly easy though) yeah it gets near 45 on the highway at 60 ..... no official tests but yeah.... I just found the weight listed in nada classic cars guide as 2280.... (I'm sure that helps.)

  12. thought you were selling right now not buying... a starter CAN click from a really bad battery which would also make the car die.

  14. my franken clutch isn't working out... and honestly if I am going to have to get a different FWD tranny to get a big enough clutch for the 2.5RS motor then I may as well get a nice AWD one right? I have the rear end stuff from a 3.7 from an 85 XT I can use.. (this is on the 2.5 swap going in my 86 XT dl)
  15. the belt turns the cam and the cam drives the distributor if the rotor doesn't spin when you crank it it likely is a timing belt.
  16. but need tires still! need some center cap ideas... I don't like the large chrome things and I don't have them anyway if anybody knows of something flat or slightly domed that fits I am all ears! KThnxBai
  17. does the rotor turn as you crank the car.. I bet it's a timing belt... easy fix!

  19. do you have a trike site? I am becoming increasingly interested in them especially if they can subie motors in them. (I vote for the EJ motor too.)
  20. we have two (or 3) guys on xt.com who have done EJ20s in XTs (Vortexes, actually) I read that they used washers (spacers) to help clear the crossmember but they also had to do some cutting, ETC.
  21. five lug swap dash surround if it isn't cracked (to sell to an XT owner) is it a good car? or not worth saving?
