  1. it "could" work on an EJ25 you'd need to grind cam slots and make up an adaptor bracket. not something I want to try...
  2. crazy thought ... but my tach jumps... (car doesn't die but tach jumps under accel.) my problem is a rear main seal leading to a slipping clutch. the tach jump is the clutch slipping. this may not be your problem but it is mine.
  3. hammer.... Check! I did the math I will have closer to three hours.... so I am less worried..:-\
  4. bump for some help... I am planning on trying to pull one this weekend but I will have about 2 hours to get it out... 90 legacy. any tips/instructions? I've never done this and am worried... do I need to remove the steering wheel? just help me with what HAS to come out to get at the harness.... Please!
  5. I recommend calling a friend with a car.. what you are asking is pointlessly dangerous... you have friends, yes?
  6. so what does a non-dealer one cause? since it came up?
  7. I got 32 mpg average this past weekend including the trip up to deal's gap from Alabama and about 200 miles of dragon running... XT DL
  8. you checked for power? or for a running pump? sounds like you did check for power but wasn't certain. get a test light to the run of wires and find out where the power stops (at least that's what i'd do.) also just because a parts store lists no relay doesn't mean there isn't one.. maybe you haven't found it yet.
  9. Fury still has the digi on his EJ20T swapped Vortex. he's on the XT site a good bit and has write ups and such. there's no reason it won't work!
  10. nice! looking forward to the pics of this bumper you fixed up!
  11. sounds like a cold start injector system not working.
  12. does the escort disty have a Star wheel in it like the pre-87 EA distys? do have any interest in making a manifold that wouldn't require cutting the hood? thanks! forget the pickup coil set-up question I found pics on the internet. looks like I can do what I was thinking to do! (still have to check my engine for the disty slot)
  13. my 85 turbo 4WD glass is bronze.. it was easier to tell it when installed in the 86 DL with the blue glass on the other side.. may simply be that what ever was top range got the gold stuff.
  14. yeah you don't really notice it till you have a blue one on one side and a gold one on the other. lower end models have blue and more expensive ones have gold.
  15. I have some experience with sideways front wheel drives. I have always had my best experiences dropping the engine and transmission out the bottom of the car. oooh i see it has balance shafts! that's a very common source of lots of engine noise! is it auto or manual?
  16. is yours blue-ish or goldish? I have a goldish one I can send off once I swap the blue one back in my door... oh and I approved your XT.com membership so you should be able to post now.
  17. geeze... give him a chance. He might need a little time to get acclimated to the car and cars in general. he has good taste, better than most 17 YOs!
  18. you can get overflow tank bubbles from a bad cap.. I know I did. and I have one of those caps with the release valve.. when I open it even a minute after shutting it off I get overflow and bubbles. (what I am saying is it's supposed to do that) I'd try a new cap and possibly thermostat (they go bad from sitting up) and see if it changes. your idle/running issue is likely an unrelated thing. I know you checked for codes and such..
  19. the system works by using the switch (button) to open a solenoid that lets vacuum move the lever on the transmission. the first thing I would check is the vacuum lines to that area! this has been covered a bit and a search will net you more info!
  20. the CTS that generally has the issues is threaded into the manifold. more details on the car? is it carburated, SPFI? what you have there is a thermosensor for the fan.
  21. Rico, did you try the SVX world network? http://www.subaru-svx.net there are a handful of them coming to the meet.
