  1. never mind just too rusty. and the third eye is gone...... I really should have looked closer before I got all excited Frame rot FTL.
  2. sweet I was almost right! (and wow gary good search!)
  3. doesn't a turbo coolant line come from the manifold? I believe that is the major difference. I believe it's a deal where you need to tap the NA manifold for the turbo fitting I'll see If I can find it.
  4. check for fuel past the filter again. re check the fuel regualtor. try pushing the throttle pedal while you try to crank it.
  5. um SS do you need a good turbo?? I'd be happy to mail you this one I have for shipping (fits in a flat rate box) Spare?
  6. I'll have to see this next year. my Dad gets cut up on the 20th and I have to keep the buisness afloat for the following ten days or so.
  7. never heard of restore. I have seen 1 case where simply adding the lucas oil stabilizer completely stopped a valve stem seal leak. it was cool.
  8. what do you plan to do about the extra license plate holder? otherwise, very cool!
  9. I keep having to rethink things because all of my experience is with other cars. when I had my Escort ZX2 the handling was better with ebay stuff. I was also thinking about the whole rear being higher on you car. which would lend to more front grip because of the wieght being over the front tires and more rear slip because of less weight over the rear tires. sounds pretty good. I could use some more hiding of the spring in the front. (looks ghastly) the back looks fine as is.
  10. I was told that the upgrade kit was basically new orings that were right for the new refrigerant, and an adapter for the fill port. I also understand that all the old needs to be pulled out VIA vacuum, but I have no idea how this was done. and you probably need new o-rings anyway
  11. IHI made a lot of the turbos in cheaper 80s/90s turbo cars. From the early 80s 1.6liter Escort turbo, on up till the 90s mazda 323 turbos. (I think the newer WRXs and such use Mitsubishi units, ironic huh?) I happen to have a 323 turbo thats shot an 83? escort IHI that's shot and a really good condition Ea82T turbo. all of them are IHI and none of them look alike at all. (and I bought the 323 turbo for kicks for 45 bucks at a you pull with the manifold attached sold the manifold for 100 bucks shipped! )
  12. yeah sorry I had just gotten out of bed when I wrote the thing about rudeness. sorry. as for the original post, I was totally in a "stream of consciousness moment". Thanks for the link. I will try and be more/less odd if it helps things. lol. (the thing I think that really got confusing in the post was the uncle and the great-uncle.) I passed by the brat today to day refresh my memory. not near as pretty as I remember. I think I will go get pics tomorrow. I may not can offer him anything just yet. I have a car I'm upside down in and no longer interested in. if I can sell it.. I will offer him 300 and if he says no maybe 5. anybody need a chrysler conquest TSI that needs a rebuilt motor?
  13. why did you edit your post to be more rude?? seems like we have quite few people on here that just like being rude to be rude. this isn't a freaking grammar bowl. it's a Subaru forum..
  14. think I just intake gaskets and a t-stat. and I checked my oil today and it's clean! (nah on the beer.... you'll help me too!) BFH FTW!
  15. the cheapie ebay coil overs are nice if you want handling be advised though... the ride WILL be rougher.
  16. it looks like this one....... and only slightly not as pretty.
  17. I am feelin poetic. if I cannot get it given to me what should I offer for it. most he will get out of it is scrap price. (or it's jumpseats sold to go in a chevy.... ugh) I want to save it. I may want to save it, get it running and sell it to a good home. I may love it. I may hate it but it shouldn't sit. weber has a direct bolt on replacement?
  18. so my uncle has a junkyard........ and in it is a BRAT. it was my great uncles. so we can get a title. my uncle is being tight about it but hell it's just sittin getting more rusty. (and less and less likely to run) my great uncle told me it had carb issues and was surprised I even liked it. the kicker is I remember sitting in the jump seat as a kid........ it's one of my first memories. what's the easiest way to replace the carb? and by easiest I mean simplest/cheapest/least headake I am going to see if my great uncle to get my not-so-great uncle to give me the brat, lol cause I don't want it to get crushed for crushing's sake,. what's a brat worth in scrap? maybe I can get it that way. 78 BRAT same year I was born... lol
  19. Rob.. I know you know what you are doing so don't take this wrong. but a narrow band is just for fun... wideband will let you know what's going on. I wouldn't trust a narrowband any further than I could throw your RX.
  20. it's on the top of my list.. in fact if frankenwedge wasn't going I might stay home. but an EG33 is going to be a hell of a shoe horn job on my base XT. and by the dragon the 2.5 will be mine and at my house... 170 hp is going to make my lightweight XT DL fly like all hell's breakin loose.
  21. I wouldn't race an xt with an SVX engine it adds weight to the front (nor would I race an SVX too heavy) I am going with the ej25 from the 2.5RS in my XT.. 165HP and won't change my wieght balance (I won't be hard core racing it but auto-x and rally are almost for certain) any EJ four banger will make your weight balance better. I have heard the EG33 is awesome in the car but I would be afraid of too much push in the front. come on over to http://www.subaruxt.com there's plenty of info on an EG33 in an XT6 over there.
  22. there are small pics in my photos here's my photobucket http://s186.photobucket.com/albums/x135/alcyonequest/?special_track=nav_tab_album I can get specific pics tomorrow.
