I've done axles on escorts and eclipses.. never had trouble getting hem back in. getting them out has always been another story. I think you are onto something with how you got the other side in. use lots of penetrating oil, for the piece that goes through to the hub. and it couldn't hurt to beat on the diff side with a 2X4 and hammer. just push the slack out of it before you strike it. so you don't clank the axle inners together. -
I have steam out the tail pipe now.

a fan can work and still be weak... not necessarily the answer.. but I'd start there.

wiggle it... just a little bit you got any lube on that sucka... you know, Kentucky Jelly? I'd try attaching the diff ends and lift the diff again. -
sweet pics in that link thank you!

oh and if I have to add the center bearing it'll be alright... I'll just take pics of the tabs for whoever does the welding.

I have read several write ups.. I am hoping to do a one-piece drive shaft (welded and rebalanced) and then the mustache bars are just long bolts added. so I am prepared there. I will either wind up AWD or Fulltime D/R or RWD.. just depends on how things play out. in other words anything but Front Wheel drive... lol

hmm..... I am impressed with alot of you and you lack of concern for the looks of your vehicle. I guess it goes hand and hand with off-roading. (the wheels and tires in the back look bad-rump roast! -
186,000 and it sat close to a year with bad timing belts before I got it about 2 months ago I'd look for a low mile engine too, but I am buying the EJ25 in june. the annual XT dragon meet is also in june. so I guess I'll do the intake now. and if it doesn't fix it, I'll be blowing her up on the dragon... lol.

I checked the dipstick and the oil is lighter brown and kind of thin. intake leak shouldn't show up on a compression test. head leak most likely would. (I think) oh and I did use coolant the first time. but it is pricey.... so now I've been using water...

I need one in my box as I am learning to make myself a body guy! -
oh.. top off your radiator. I was down almost a third of a gallon

what would matter is if you had a carb. see opening the throttle causes the computer to pump in less fuel it's a mode for clearing a flooded cylinder with coolant in the combustion chamber it's flooded... apparently the lesser fuel allows the car to start. I had a coolant smell for sure once right after a cold start. but I only noticed it once. if I am right you should have a ticking lifter next. see, I also think I have a little coolant in the oil. I only assume this though, because the level went up inspite of an oil leak.

that's exactly what I was referring to.. no start. no start push pedal and start. we have the same issue. now we have to decide what it is. are you MPFI??
