what is my timing mark in this picture?
zukiru replied to 87.5ea82txt's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Its much easier to see the marks on the fly wheel if you have a manual. -

The timing mark I used is on the flywheel under the rubber plug on the bellhousing -
Bored? Can somebody explain how this all works?
zukiru replied to l75eya's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
We had... well my dad had a Mazda mpv that wood tick when the oil needed changed. My blue xt cleared up with some Seafoam. -
Odd, my 88 has it too. Maybe they carried it over on XTs?
-
Ooh.... I see. on my XTs the pulley bolts to the water pump AND has studs for the fan. now I get why you told me to put the pulley back...
-
?? lol Yeah I left the pulley.

The one to delete Imho is the clutch fan. The clutch is likely junk and they can use up to 10hp.

just looking to see how the alternators mount on ea82s with no AC. going to try and get my XTDL set up with no AC since it should have been that way anyway.

They changed the intake manifold for 87.5. The new one is better but requires some wiring if you have the older model. 7/87 could go either way.

Rockauto has some on closeout It's recommended to always install struts in pairs. Handling can be adversity affected other wise. -

Ginger, the starter slayer...
zukiru replied to zukiru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Latest starter is actually still holding on. No draw on the switch signal, everything seems to be alright. As if it was just a burp... -
Fuel system or ignition troubles also.

There could be with megasquirt or a Hondata ecu or something tunable. But to try and get the stock ecu to read a map seems like a lot of work for little (no) return.

Why not just get a good factory flapper and be done? But you could look at factory Toyota flappers.. very similar and much more common.
