  1. Not sure if they still make those... Call them up Beataru
  2. 1) We tend to use sand/gravel on the west coast to cope with snow and ice. There is a lot of it around here, so why not use it? This keeps our cars from rusting out like they do on the Wrong Coast. 2) We are the perfect environment for Scoobys. Snow and mountains that require 4WD in the West half and mostly flat boring 2WD zones in the Eastern half. 3) We are closer to the port of entry. The WA is the B3TTAR!!!
  3. Oh, really? I'll throw some in there, my bad. For the head flanges I had to have those made. My builder used .25" SS stock and to be sure it would not crack or warp, I asked that he make it with four stud holes. All I did on the head side was to pull out the factory exhaust studs and replaced the two per side with four SS studs and hardware, with a used factory gasket under that. When I pull it off to add the EGT bung I will put a new gasket in there, but for now, with four bolts per flange, it is holding up very well! I haven't logged many miles with it, but no flaws so far! 4. It should not matter where the O2 sensor is as long as its before the cats.
  5. How much did that set you back, if you don't mind my asking?
  6. I think I have a pic or two of mine in my gallery. Feel free to check it out.
  7. I'll choose F. I just found a lead on a fully rebuilt MPFI EA82. With proper fuel management, this car should last for a while. I'll keep everyone updated.
  8. I was going to buy that car today!!! If you change your mind about keeping it, let me know!
  9. Why? Why kill this perfectly good car with ricey mods?
  10. Yeah, come on!! Just because he broke it doesn't mean we don't want to see the videos!!! BRING IT ON!
  11. Thats pretty cool! I might have to get a similar set up for our car. Couldn't make that one, the only car of mine that is drivable is lifted, hahaha!
  12. Because it will be more reliable on the trail. Its like a big EA82 without the HG problems.
  13. *COUGH* make your own! *COUGH* Seriously, its not that hard and there are tons of DIY pages on it on the web. All you need is a vacuum, some plastic sheets, some resin and a few sheets of fiberglass and one of CF. Thats how most of those sweet kamakazi kits are made anyhow.
  14. Ditto. Run it in my EA81 and EA81T and they don't complain at all.
  15. Putting a body kit on an XT would probably kill the great time and effort that the Fuji engineers put into the aero design of the car. My guess is the Cd would be miserable. Why do you want a body kit anyway?
  16. Yeah, that is exactly what I'm asking! Only difference is that I want to do this myself, not pay to have it done. Basically, I want to know if its physically possible to put 25 spline EA82 inner cups on the inboard side of an EA81 axle and if it will last. Is it safe to do this myself, or is it something that should be left to professionals?
  17. EA81: 1980-84 (except brats 1980-81), 1985-87 brats, 1985-89 hatches EA82: 1985-89 (except brats and hatches), 1990-94 as Loyales
  18. I want to put a full time 5 speed tranny in my EA81, and after reading GeneralDisorder's write up on putting EA82 rear DOJs on EA81 rear axles. I got to thinking, "Would it be possible to do this to the front axles as well except using EA82 25 spline cups?" I imagine it would, but just wanted to ask around. What do you think about the reliablility/durability of these hybrid joints? Thanks for all input!
  19. Actually most EA81s had 3.900 rear ends, while only autos came with the 3.700 ring gears.
  20. Let me know how that clutch work out for you. I was thinking of something similar, but was wondering if going with multiple pucks was overkill on a daily driver vs. potential track car.
  21. So was there any difficulty in installing the EA gear stuff in the EJ box? Any grinding or silly things like that? I don't think I'm going to do anything like that, but I will be diving into a gearbox and swapping some gears around(3.9 gears into an RX box with 1.5 low range). I just need the voice of experience from someone whos been inside a gear box.
  22. PICS DARNIT!!! You can buy pre assembled control units on ebay and wiring the sensors is about as difficult as installing a set of fog lights.
