Heres what I have to offer picture wise: Thats all I can seem to fit in my album (Did they suddenly get smaller?). You can't see it in this picture, but the motor is right behind the bumper and operates a rod that opens the door for the 3rd eye. Check to see that the rod isn't catching on anything thru its range of motion.

EA81T, hissing noise from fuel system
carfreak85 replied to Ever Victorious's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
That isn't the fuel filter. The filter is behind the driver's side strut tower, near the windsheild wiper motor, like Turbone mentioned. If you do end up doing that, keep me in mind for the turbo motor! A spare couldn't hurt! -
ea81t is nearing completion.......

Awesome, thats basically what I want to do to mine, VF-11, intercooler, exhaust, etc. Hoping for at least 175hp at the wheels when all is said and done. -

Ross, those pictures of your car are SICK!!! I wish we had the EA81 touring wagons in the US. What have you done to your wagon? Our cars are like twins across the Pacific! Keep us updated on your progress. EA81Ts FOR LIFE!!! -

ea81 coupe vs ea81 sedan - some details please
carfreak85 replied to Phizinza's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Don't know the weight, but the brat uses different side window glass than the hatch or coupe. -
Good luck, I tried finding all the turbo coolant hoses and they sent me packing at Chaplin's. I don't think there are any parts like that left. I ended up making my own hoses for the turbo lines.

ea81t 4wd coupe; how rare?
carfreak85 replied to Jack in Norfolk's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Just saw another one today in Bellingham. It was parked a few stalls away from my t wagon and was the same color to boot! -
You're gonna need the front crossmember to clear the up pipe of the stock crossover pipe. The turbo cars also have a lower, stiffer suspension if your into a street turbo. The wiring is going to be toughest part.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't T-coupes only made in 84? -

When does a Subaru stop being a Subaru?
carfreak85 replied to RallyJusty's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Justy-esque, thats what I would call it. -
Thank you, now I can go look for some. Are they the same impedence as stock? On another note, Will, I appriciate all that you've done for the old school crew and hope that you will continue to blaze the trail to a HO, reliable old school engine. But when you make a game out of telling us what you've done to your car EVERY SINGLE TIME, it can rile people up as we've seen (two pages worth). Please don't take this the wrong way, I follow everything you do to your car and save all the dyno charts, etc, but when it takes until page three before anyone knows what your talking about, thats not nice, its just cruel! Again, keep up the good work!

Well, I have been searching and saving all the rings I can find, and I think I have about 8 rings. What kind of a deal can we work out? -
If it fits an EA82T, it will fit an EA81T.

Did ea81t ever come without A/C??
carfreak85 replied to Ross's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Never seems to bother my car that it has a 2WD alternator on it. -
Why do *YOU* prefer old gens?
carfreak85 replied to Syonyk's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I love anything subaru. Old, new, it doesn't really matter. I can't afford an STI, but if I could, that is what I would drive. The old ones are what I can afford, so thats what I drive. Plus they are so freakin easy to work on! -

carfreak85 replied to Ross's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes, like in the last post, they were avalible without AC, but since they were the top of the line model, I think most of them came loaded to the gills with options. Superrallyroo's old T wagon didn't have AC or power steering so you might ask him if he has any pics of his old setup. -
Toasted CV = toasted bearings?
carfreak85 replied to FlyB0y's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Doesn't sound normal, but I couldn't explain it.
