  1. Allied Armerment and SJR also both make lift kits.
  2. My turbo wagon has 140,000ish miles on it. My friend Dan's 82 brat has like 96K on it.
  3. 95hp @ 4800rpm, 123lb/ft @ 2000rpm
  4. Where in the ham are you staying? Near campus or far, far away?
  5. Well it looks like Snowman beat me to it, but to answer your questions: 1) If the damage is on the front of the car, the body panels from any 80-84 car will work. (There are some cars that have the same body panels until 89, but use the above years for reference). Headlights, grills and bumpers changed over the years, so if you need those, get them from a matching year. 2) Depending on what tools you have avalible to you and if you have anyone to help you, a clutch would not be out of the question for a novice (These cars are VERY easy to work on). While doing the clutch, I would suggest replacing the throw out bearing, gear oil, maybe the rear main seal of the engine, and the clutch cable depending on its condition. Also use this time to clean up the engine compartment and to check for things that need to be greased or tightened. The only other thing I would do would be to get a factory service manual for your car. I think I have a spare one for your year, so shoot me a PM.
  6. If you want stiffer springs in front, you can track down EA81T front springs and anti-roll bar. They are slightly lower (Not by much) and stiffer (Again, not by much).
  7. Does anyone have any hints or advice for replacing the front wheels bearings on a 4WD EA81? The FSM mentions having the bearings pressed out. Does this necessitate a hydrolic press or can you get the bearings out at home in the basement?
  8. Do you have any of those pictures in a larger size? A real EA81 rally car... My dreams have come true!!!
  9. Sweet! It'll be sweet to have another lifted sube in the area! I also go to WWU, so we should go looking for some offroad spots near by.
  10. I'm also using the MSD Blaster 2. Didn't notice a difference from stock, but I never pounded the car with the stock coil.
  11. If its from a turbo legacy, I'm pretty sure its a 3.900 ratio. I have no idea about the international cars however...
  12. Wow, its great to see someone else messing around with EA81Ts. More power to ya! Let us know how the assembly goes.
  13. He was pretty harsh on the design of the STi and it's interior, which in truth is pretty damn good and a lot better than subarus used to be. I don't agree with him on a lot of his statements on both cars.
  14. I have some of my buddy's brat and my lifted hatch that I'll post later. This is an 84 turbo with the lower, stiffer suspension and bigger roll bars. Its pretty weak...
  15. None, show up in your post, but they do look good! I really like that color sube!
  16. Well I can tell you that it wont be just a little bit since its still pressurized... But it wont be too bad.
  17. Well, my uncle took it to the local dealer and they pulled a code 22 I beleive. Turns out he needs a new airbag control unit and wiring harness. Does anyone have that and a tailgate handle for a 98 outback sitting around?
  18. I don't think that it has ever been apart. Where is this switch so that I can check it? If its under the driver's side dash, how many poles is it so I know what I'm looking for. How many other people has this happened to?
  19. To safely rid your system of fuel pressure your car needs to be able to run. disconnect the connecter for the fuel pump and start the car and let it run until it dies. After that, you're good to go.
  20. My uncles's outback just failed its inspection (Virginia) because the airbag light is on and has been on for the last three years. The horn and cruise control still work. I've heard that a non functioning horn/airbag light combo can be a bad clock spring in the steering column, but if its just one of these problems occours, could it still be the clock spring? Thanks for your help!
  21. Well guys, after poking around and looking for things to ground, I found that the grounding strap for the transmission to the body of my wagon was disconnected. The hole in the body was stripped so I used a bolt to secure it. When I went to check the dash, the crazy shutdown noise was gone as were the dim display on my dash! So, the moral of this story is to check your grounds for any strange electrical problems you might have.
  22. When my Dad got his WRX we had the head unit croak. The ECU needed a reflash too. Not much has gone wrong with this car and we still love it despite the things that have gone wrong. I don't think our car, or yours is a lemon.
  23. I don't think you need to worry about that. Did you try looking in an FSM?
