  1. Heres some insperation, Hella 500's:
  2. Haha, if I had one then yeah, I'd let you borrow it!
  3. I'll second that since I'm planning on doing that in the near future. Maybe I could get one of each...
  4. If you're planning on offroading, steer clear of a turbo. Just think of what could happen when a hot turbo is dunked into a cold puddle. Do a search on weber carbs and you will find a plethora of info.
  5. I agree with Zap. My hatch has a PKDavis 3/3" lift and I like how the car slants forward. However, would sitll love a 4/3" just for the extra clearence!
  6. These pics doesn't help much, but you get the idea:
  7. Unless you plan on welding in the two peice driveshaft, you will need to lengthen the one peice driveshaft. You might have to grind some off the bellhousing on the engine side to clear the flywheel. I suggest getting Jerry's (Bratsrus1) conversion kit, it makes the swap much easier.
  8. I'm thinking that a bell mouth for merging the wastegate might be the best solution. Even if the wastegate pipe is longer, all you're doing is moving the turbulence further down the exhaust system. The bell mouth is the same design the Cobb tuning uses on their downpipes.
  9. I'm in the process of installing a stereo in my wagon and I've decided that the stock speaker wiring needs to go. Its just to thin for REAL speakers.
  10. I have the mechanical fan on my turbo car but I want to swap to an electric one. How can I wire it up and still have it operate in the stock manner?
  11. I'm about to do this to my RX tranny for my wagon. While I'm in there, how do I swap to the lower-low range? Does anything need to be modded to do this?
  12. I like Flomaster mufflers. They made my buddy's mustang and 944 sound pretty darn good.
  13. I have Kunhos on my lifted rig and they are just fine, but when they wear out or if I end up selling them, they will be replaced by Swampers, period.
  14. I haven't had any problems with Schucks either. I know some of the people who work there and if I don't I can still generally find what I need. I will agree however that NAPA is a much better store. Unfortunatly I'm on one side of Bellevue while the only NAPA around is on the other side of town while I have two Schucks within 5 minutes of my house.
  15. I wouldn't dare remove the engine on my EA81T to replace the clutch. There is just too much crap connected to the engine to make it worth my while. Plus I've done it by pulling the tranny quite a few times. Now if I had a carb'ed EA81 I would probably pull the motor.
  16. Wagonpowaa and I recently got back from a trip and while we were driving his brat we noticed what I thought was some nasty clicking from his axles. We replaced his axles but the noise is still there. Now, he did get his brakes done and was in the shop a few times to make sure the job was done correctly (the e-brake still has issues). We were wondering if anyone has had similar problems with their gen one cars. It definatly sounds like a pair of bad CVs, but it obviously isn't. It goes away when he steps on the brakes and the pads DO NOT have any silencing goo on the back. Could this pe brake noise after all? Please help us as this noise is not only loud and obnoxious, but pretty scary to hear while driving. Thanks for any advice you can give!
  17. The 3rd eye is rare, but not rare enough to buy a car over. Plus they can be retrofitted to other cars like I did.
  18. With the hatch having a shorter wheelbase and shorter overhangs, I would definatly say hatch. Also having the bulletproof EA81 for at least a little while would be one less thing to worry about on the trails.
  19. I'm pretty sure that in the US at least, WRXs have a 3.900 rear end.
