  1. That little sensor is the ambiant temp sensor and yes, you need it for the ECU. The purge canister wouldn't affect your running and you might as well leave it in if anything.
  2. This just crossed my mind, check your spark plug wires and make sure they are going to the correct cylinders.
  3. Check for vacuum leaks and make sure the fuel pump connector is plugged in all the way. Other than that, I'm stumped. Do you have a FSM or Turbo FSM supplement?
  4. EA81 performance parts. Lightweight body panels, camber plates, brake upgrade kits, racing seat adapters, anything and everything for EA81s!
  5. I know what you mean! We went from like 5 forums a few years ago and have now more than double that!
  6. This is why: "Any topic discussing Subaru models older than 1979 (1981 for Brat), or vehicle restoration techiques for any model or year Subaru."
  7. I had an engine that was imported and was claimed to be goo turn out to be junk. Be aware that some of these engines will probably be bad.
  8. If they're not too heavy and prove to be durable, I might be interested in a set for an upcoming project.
  9. So are they $400 per set or per individual wheel?
  10. I'm sick of pulling and hammering on my axles, where do I get one of these?
  11. What about fiberglass hoods? Anyone know about those?
  12. PSSST! I have a little secret... The timing marks are on the crank pully for the turbo cars!
  13. Horay! Another EA81T owner, welcome to the club! Regarding your question about the rev limiter, there isn't one. I am suprised that your shift light and buzzer seem to be coming on early as mine don't activate until the redline at 5,500rpm. The ECU light is supposed to come on when you start the car and if there aren't any problems with the system it is supposed to shut off again. I would replace your filter, plugs, wires, cap and rotor and then see if there is a difference. If these little tune up items haven't been replaced for a while you will notice a difference. As for the dashboard, good luck. I don't think anyone has sucsessfully converted a Digital Dash to the conventional type yet. If you still want to try changing it, I have an analog turbo gauge cluster if you'd be interested and I can try to scan the pin outs for the analog and digial dashes so you can get them to work together. On a side note, LETS SEE SOME PICS!
  14. I got the steering wheel off of ebay, but you can get a similar one off of Celica All-tracs and maybe Saab 900s. I might be selling it however, ever since I saw one on ebay that fits the character of the car much better.
  15. When I drove my Mercedes, I always wanted a manual. Now that my subaru has a manual, there are times I wish I had an auto. However, I'd still want a manual over an automatic any day. Plus you can put the LSD in the back of the auto, if it doesn't have one.
  16. After the server ate my article, I finally retyped it. Have a look and tell me what you think! http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/article.php?a=100
  17. I know this one guy who I always see in Newcastle who has a cherry brat! Oh wait, it Wagonpowaa!
  18. When Lepetitprince registered his brat, we asked if we could change the registraiton from a truck to a passenger vehicle. We could have but since in Washington truck registration is calculated by GVW, its cheaper to have it registered as a truck. Go figure!
  19. The GL Gen 1 brats had the quad headlight set up and a techometer along with some other stuffs. The Gen 2 turbo brats were 83.5-84 (Small diffference I know). Subaru put the jump seats in to skirt import tariffs on imported trucks. By putting the seats in the back they could call it a multi-purpose vehicle and avoid the tariffs. In Japan the brat was used as an agricultural vehicle. This is the best guide you will find for brats (Be aware that its a pdf file) http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/brats/Brats.pdf
  20. Don't use Lucas. While it does make your oil climb gears better, it will also make your oil froth and you will have little air bubbles everwhere.
  21. Never had any trouble with the ankle rolling method. BTW that is a SICK 944!
  22. Thats what I thought, now I'm not so sure. Makes me wonder about my injectors though because EA82 injectors can be interchanged with EA81Ts. Guess I'll have to send some injectors to RC.
  23. That is an incredibly low price for a radiator! Does anyone know if Radiatorworld's rads are trustworthy?
  24. Would you look at the camber on that rear wheel!
