  1. I had an axle go on my T wagon and was worried that I wouldn't be able to find an axle to fit before I had to leave for school. Thankfully I was able to steal one off of my lifted 81 hatch! Thank you subaru for making almost everthing interchangeable!!!
  2. Prodrive P7s right? Sorry to spoil the fun! I'm very jealous! Where/how did you score those?
  3. You can use the 4 speed manual from the EA81 if you want to save a little green, but why not upgrade while you do the swap. Use the search function to find one of the threads that has more details.
  4. For the brakes I would go with Brembo stock replacement rotors (Best quality) and PBR Metal Master pads if you can find some. I've found the brembo rotors and pads for under $20 online.
  5. I have a MSD Blaster 3 coil and while I can't comment on any performance gains (It was installed while the car was being worked on), it definatly has NOT left me stranded like many who run the Accel coils have.
  6. The VIN for a turbo brat should be JF2AT55BXEF500001 and after with the X being a check digit.
  7. Look at the emissions sticker under the hood. The turbo cars had the timing set to 13 deg BTDC while non turbos should be something like 8 deg BTDC.
  8. A leak down test will test the cylinder's ability to hold pressure, not only is this useful for checking rings, but also valve guides and seals.
  9. This is my wallpaper: I also have a bigger version.
  10. 84 GL hatch with PKD 3" lift. 27" Kumho MTs on 14" Pugs with the stock suspension cranked all the way down. Trimmed fenders, but nothing too drastic.
  11. Just looked up the diameter of the Whiteling rear bar. At 16mm, it is 4mm less than the XT6 bar, just for reference.
  12. Well that is the side that is right next to the turbo, so the extra thermal load would easily do those cylindars in. This summer, I plan on getting a really nice heat sheild for the turbo in my wagon to keep the heads happy.
  13. They should. When they redesigned the Impreza, they didn't change the shocks or springs and since the legacy and impreza share the same suspension, they should interchange.
  14. I'm planning on working with a 10lb sledge!
  15. I really like my dealer. They generally understand what I'm talking about (EA81, EA81T, etc). The other cool thing is that one of them was advertising to his coustomers about WCSS6, and mentioned that he might go down for a day. The might not always have the parts I need, but can generally point me to a dealer that has the parts. Chaplin's Subaru kicks butt!
  16. Wow, except for the exhaust not being original, that car looks really incredibly stright and clean for its age! I like your idea of a matching pair, but the question begs asking, which will they be matched to? The brown brat or the red (?) go kart?
  17. Happy Board-Day Eric! And a late but great 4/20 to the rest of you out there! This will be my third year on this board, but the changeover from the ezboard cut me off and I lost about a year and 700 posts!!! Oh well, but Eric, Ken, Mick and Shawn thanks for creating such a great subaru haven for all us "Sub Junkies" to hang out in!
  18. Yes there are a few ways to fix this. First would be to take it to your local muffler shop and have them weld it back up. This would be an inexpensive way to go about fixing it. A second way would be to go to a junk yard and pull yourself a new y-pipe or mid pipe and swap it with your old one. Just make sure the engines are of the same asperation (non-turbo, etc). If you do the labor yourself, this could be the most cost effective way to go. Or you could buy an aftermarket replacement exhaust. Hope this helps!
  19. I'm interested in those numbers. Could you post them?
