  1. PoorManzImpreza, would yoube able to look into the piston size for the subaru rear discs and the piston size on the bluebird too? It would be great if they were the same size! Also could you look at the pads and see if they're similar? Thanks for any help you can give!
  2. I have the five speed box in my car and it took a tiny amount of grinding to make it clear. I also had to buy the conversion kit from Jerry, bratsrus, to get it to fit. If you don't want to deal with this, just go with the 4 speed.
  3. Do a search, its been covered many times.
  4. No, never had this problem! I think the increase in torque from the lower ratio makes you stick a little more from digging in, but I also think that you just don't have the speed in reverse, so you bog down easily.
  5. I have no idea. But if you want any rig to do better in the sand put taller tires on it, this will make the tire's footprint longer so it will be less likely to dig itself into the sand. But you probably already knew that.
  6. Look in the marketplace or go over to NASIOC or one of the other new gen forums. There aren't many places online, besides ebay, that I know of that sell OEM wheels for anything.
  7. Snow is the best! Until you dig down to the dirt, then you need to move to find good snow again!
  8. My 84 turbo wagon has vented front rotors. I think all EA81s had vented front rotors from 84 until subaru killed them. The EA81T cars had larger front bars than the rest of the EA81s as well as lower, stiffer suspensions so there isn't much upgrading to be had from that gen. The front bars from an EA82 may or may not fit, I have no idea, but someone with more experience might chime in.
  9. The skid plate would do the same thing as a splash sheild, but not on purpose, mostly for keeping sharp/hard/pokey things out of your oil pan, etc. Yours does look to be mounted incorrectly, but I would suggest Primitive Racing skip plates because they go back farther than the IPD ones (The IPD plates are wider however). http://www.writerguy.com/primitive/skid.htm Look at the WRX plate
  10. Just some fun snow pics from Friday, enjoy! http://usmb.net/gallery/album230?page=3
  11. Don't mean to burst your bubble, but that is not a skid plate. Its a splash sheild, keeps water and crup from flying up into your engine bay, and it will do nothing for rocks and large, hard things like that because it is made of plastic. If you tend park over curbs and scrape it, then that could mess it up.
  12. I've never heard of an Outback XT. Also I don't think any of the new subes' turbos spool at anything less than 2400 rpm. My 84 turbo wagon starts spooling at 1200 rpm!
  13. Hey, Zap or Corky, what times are you guys heading out from the homesteads on Saturday? I was sondering if the family and I could tag along behind either of you two.
  14. The wagon has that huge cargo area that can flex, the coupe has the rear hatch and such to stiffen it up.
  15. I've go a turbo supplement if you want me to look anything up. http://usmb.net/gallery/album114/IMG_0982 http://usmb.net/gallery/album114/IMG_0983 Plus this one's one ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6762&item=7936602101&rd=1
  16. My dad has a set of regular chains for the front of his WRX sedan. I don't think we've ever had to use them though. He doesn't like his one season tires on snow though!
  17. How and what would I need to tap into, ie, what wires and where do they terminate? Thanks for your help on this Will, because I'm lost!
