  1. So I have the the 5 speed swapped into my wagon, and when I try to use the cruise control, the main switch lights up, but when I try to set the speed, nothing happens. Is this because I took out the 3EAT auto and replaced it with the five speed, or are the cables and such just not adjusted? Could also be that the vaccum stuff isn't hooked up, but with the turbo making positive pressure that would make me think it wasn't the vaccum thing. Please help, I like cruise control!
  2. Ken, got any tree permits left? If not, who/where do I got to get one?
  3. Boy, that car sure does seem cobbled together! Lots of rusty stuff too.
  4. They tend to rust out behind the upper rear shock mounts, so be sure to spray any gunk out of there.
  5. Oh, I forgot to mention, Irish drinking songs and folk music! Can't beat it!
  6. What code number is it? I can look it up in my FSM.
  7. Dude, supras had stright sixes. Just thought I'd let you know.
  8. Pull the coil wire, then just crank the engine over a few times. That should do it.
  9. Why? The fab work wouldn't be too hard, but you would loose a lot of the towing torque the Ford has. Also the wiring would probably kill almost anyone!
  10. Kumho or something else cheap. Go to thttp://www.tirerack.com and search for tires in the size you want.
  11. First sube I ever wanted was an EA82T wagon with the pushbutton 4WD. Then My friend got this car (The green wagon): Then I discovered this message board and became obsessed with EA81s and found my turbo wagon (The red one) at a towing auction. The rest is history!
  12. If they cost substantially less than the turbo hearder and DP and they actually fit without modifications, I would consider putting one on my offroad hatch.
  13. I'm collecting a stash of magazines right now. You should see them on the board within two weeks or so with many more to come soon after.
  14. The July 1986 Motor Trend that I'm reading right now clocks the 3dr Turbo 4WD coupe at a 0-60: 10.57 seconds with a 1/4 mile of 17.74 seconds at 78.6 mph. They are not at all fast considering a standard WRX hits the 0-60 in less than half the amout of time.
  15. Pistols, Ramones, Pixies, Wyclef Jean, anything with engery, but Frank Sinatra is good too!
  16. Peter, we need to go wheelin' some time!
  17. Subaru says in the owner's manual to use 91 or higher, so thats what I use even though I'm tempted to use 87 when I don't have a lot of cash in my pocket. Better safe than sorry!
  18. This car better not look anything like the latest subaru concept cars, otherwise I will not be buying a new subaru for quite a while. EDIT: I saw the concept drawing, and this is the most disgusting looking subaru I've ever seen! And the B9X? Are we turning into Acrua now? I buy subarus so that I dont have to deal with that alphanumeric BS.
  19. WRX's don't seem to really respond to intakes. The stock airbox is good enough for the STI, so it must not be much of a restriction!
  20. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/wheels2/74sportmag.jpg Thats the worst I've ever been stuck, but it has a burnt out clutch right now, so the hatch is stuck in my driveway! It will idle in gear and not move!
  21. Wow, thanks Eric! Now to devise a plan for the new rig!
