Just curious, but why the move to aluminum if its heavier and more expensive? Will future customers have a choice of steel, aluminum or mixed?

how do you install oil pressure gauge?
carfreak85 replied to avatar382's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The thread in the block is an NPT fitting, so I had to get a NPT to SAE adapter and then a brass "T". I put the idiot light sender in one of the open ports on the "T" and the oil pressure gauge on the other port. I also used teflon tape on all the threads in the system to ensure leak-free operation. I can get pics this weekend if you'd like. -
My buddy and I will be there for sure!

http://usmb.net/gallery/album287/Quattro_wheels?full=1 These suckers are off of Quattro San up at WWU. They say subaru on them and they are 13 inchers. QS is missing one or two center caps, so if anyone wants to donate a cap to the grand daddy of the WRX, PM me.

carfreak85 replied to carfreak85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I have access to a bunch of old mags that have sube articles in them so I'd like to scan them and have one of the mods put them up so everyone can read them. Who should I contact for that? -
This kid and the previous owner need a healthy beating.

I was reading this article I found in my engineering class and I read this passage: http://usmb.net/gallery/album215/IMG_0902 and it appears that I have a GL-10 Turbo wagon! I guess they couldn't fit the 10 on the rear emblem!

$4500 seems awfully $alty for a loyale. Go lower, even if it is rare thats just too much, these aren't collectable cars.

Any guesses at what this does?
carfreak85 replied to carfreak85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Haven't doodled with it yet, I don't want to fart around with anything until the engine gets replaced in this car. -
There is gonna be a lot more of this stuff surfacing in the near future as I dig around up here (Note the EA81 diesel heads I posted in another thread).
