Subaru Boneyard RULES!!!!
carfreak85 replied to The Scooby's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Is there another RX tranny and rear diff? I've been looking for one for a long time. I can trade my tranny too. Might need some of the stuff off that 83 turbo wagon too. -

Oh, I don't care about class, I just want to see you run your rig! You might be able to get by by calling it an import conversion or something, and not have to run in a street touring (Engine swap) class. -

On Lepetitprince's brat he failed emissions. After changing the oil/filter, fuel filters, plugs, wires, PCV valve and air filter and a new gas cap, it passed with flying colors! My turbo wagon was bought at an auction with an unknowen history and passed emissions without any work the first time! Its amazing how simple these cars are to run! simple little things make the biggest difference in the world! -
Well, my Dad and I went up to Bellingham today for the CSCC event #2. We co-drove his WRX in C6 class and placed an astonishing 1-2! I ran a 57.XX and he ran a 58.3X where the average was around a minute and the best times in dedicated race cars (Damn Bugeye Sprites) were 50.XX. Beat a lot of cars! The list includes an STi, bunch of VWs, bunch of MR2s, bunch of Porsches, a C4 corvette, modded WRXs and RSs. Mods to our car include a boost gauge and Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 tires on stock wheels... Thats it!

custom ea81/82 Motor mounts, any interest?
carfreak85 replied to shanonsf's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Me! How much will they be? If they're too much, I'll just do the 3M windsheild compound mod. -
Those high torque numbers are there because they dyno the engines when they're hooked up to gear reductions for the propellers. I think they mention that on the websites.
-
Hahahaha, I think we've all seen that list. SUB4 heads (Dual intake and exhaust ports) are $2000+ per set and Ram Performance or some other company sells duel intake/single exhaust port heads for $1500. I got a bunch of prices on this when I thought they were cheaper.
-
You aren't the first person to run across this! There are really no downsides to these heads (They are designed to flow at high engine speeds, airplanes you know) except for the price. Just hovering above $2000 for a set of HEADS ONLY! I plan on doing this when I graduate from college, if I have enough money then!

Please don't drive up my bid anymore guys! I try not to bid against other board members if I know their ebay, and I'd hope that others do the same for me. -
Heres the pics I have: http://usmb.net/gallery/album114/IsraBrat_duel_carb2?full=1 http://usmb.net/gallery/album114/IsraBrat_duel_carb?full=1

Guys, from what I've read in other posts, it will point to the rear. That little mounting thing on the left runner faces the rear on every sube I've seen at the PAP.

Custom Wheels for 89 loyale
carfreak85 replied to merlin3's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hey, might try looking for a set here, http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/80s/wheels2/wheels.html, find a set you like and then ask for a set of that type of wheel. We can probably find someone with a set of pretty much anything who is willing to sell.On a side note, Me and some other subaru fans will be up in the Islands for 5 days starting on june 29th (?). Would you be interested in meeting up? It would be me and Wagonpowaa and two non USMB Sube enthusists. -
Very cool! How'd you manage that?
-
I beleive you can find that chart here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.phpt=12566&highlight=spring+ratesAlso, if you do some searches, or look at the strut and spring height in the chart, you can figure out which factory peices will lower your RX. I think the XT struts and springs will lower the car by an few cm's or so. As for the clutches, clutchnet.com makes awesome clutches! I don't have one, but I'm planning on getting one, and as racing clutches go, they are relitively inexpensive! http://www.clutchnet.com/make/subaru.html

GROSS!!! That is a "NO, DON'T YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!" vote...

God, I hope my wagon runs faster than that when I race it! 20+ seconds and a 2.7+ 60 foot time? Hope nothings wrong with that wagon, because I found a website that lists 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, and the turbo subes were around 16-18 seconds in the quarter. Hows the engine on that?
-
I have an old MSD that was on my buddies Jeep Cherokee, then on my friends subaru gl, now on my EA81T wagon and its still running wel! 2 years and counting!
-
None of the subarus I've ever owned (Besides the WRX) have had a overflow tank. They are all EA81s. Just a little tube down to the ground. Even my EA81T wagon doesn't have a tank.

Saab-aroo

I hate the 92. Its so dumb! any consumer who buys a more expensive saab over the same subaru is nuts. why pay more for a different front end and a "European Heritage"?
