  1. Just checking because a lot of you EA82T guys are buying them too, so I just wanted to check.
  2. Will the DP fit on the EA81T chassis? Don't remember if anyone has said definitivly.
  3. GeneralDisorder, all I can say is don't knock it until you've tried it!
  4. Early 90s would be the date they started going into production. Sorry I can't be more specific. The US spec EJ22 was never turbo'd, but a limited edition (22B) was sold in japan with a turbo EJ22, but it wasn't the same engine we got here. No problems I can think of, just remember to check the timing belts!
  5. My Brat has a bulge in one of the tires and it has a shakey/wiggley steering wheel. Might check your tires.
  6. D/R, theres no way around it dude, its just that much better!
  7. Google, man's best friend! http://www.phantomgrip.com/product_lists.php?make=Subaru This is probably what you need. Read more about how it works, its pretty interesting! GREEN SPRING UPGRADE NOT AVAL. FOR HITACHI R160!!!
  8. Ya wanna work that magic on my wagon? Need to find a place to get my engine rebuilt. Smart service gets new shortblocks and reman heads and CCR hasn't returned may of my emails, and I KNOW they're back from vacation already!
  9. Too cold and dark! I'll look tomorrow afternoon.
  10. 82 brat gl 1800. Anyone know if it has a hitachi or c/w?
  11. I think the gen 1 brat is like 2045 or 2145, I can't remember.
  12. I'm the same way about beating on my cars. Look for another post about dropping an EA82T into a gen one brat. That post has some info on the 5spd tranny into that body.
  13. I can't tell you why the idiot lights are on, but the excessive noise might be bad alternator bearings. I really have no idea, but thought I'd give it a stab.
  14. I've asked Jerry about gen 1's before and he said he's working on a kit for them too.
  15. Lowering or stiffer stock height springs, radiator upgrades, competition valvetrains.
  16. Lightened flywheels and aftermarket clutches. Pug lugnuts, performance brake parts (Pads, big brake kits?)
  17. Yes on both topics. The covers keep crud and sticks out of your belts. This is a very good thing! Subarutex says he noticed a big difference when he swapped to the spider intake.
  18. Sweet dude! That is gonna be one hell of a fast car! You mentioned that the tranny (5spd I assume) fit perfectly. Is this true? no mods to the tranny tunnel at all? Do you think this could be done with a stock 1600, or did you move the engine/tranny farther forward in the car?
  19. If i can find a coupe and an ER27, Ill do that!
  20. Make sure the clutch is aligned! I tried putting the tranny back in 6 times, aligning the clutch every time but it wouldn't work. Finally I had my old man do it and the trick he used was to loosen all the bolts, stick the tool in there and tighten each bolt a 1/4 turn in the same cross pattern used on lug nuts. Also, grease the input shaft for the tranny, loosen the engine pitching stopper so the engine tilts backwards, and have a buff guy under the car pushing the tranny!
  21. I really doubt it uses 10 hp, more like 1-3 hp on a really bad day. Probably a rumor ricers made up to bolster the theoretic output of their crappy cars.
  22. 1. I have no idea. Try using redline water wetter. 2. Yes. If your car WASN'T an EA81T then you'd have to do some grinding. 3. Again, no idea. Might try emailing Accel. 4. Don't know about 2wd to 4wd, but the EA82 cars (Not just turbo) had 8 7/8 inch clutches while the EA81s had 7 7/8 inch. Best to use the whole EA82 assymbly (like I did) and have it lightened.
