NM, figured it out, I think. FSM is basically no help in finding the clockspring pinouts. -
You olny need the EA82 flywheel/bolt spacers if you want to use the EA82 clutch. (This is what I did) What color is your interior?

For some reason I can't copy/paste on this particular computer, but I'll give you directions: On the main forum page, scroll all the way to the bottom, looking for the "Ultimate Subaru Repair Manual." Click "Transmission, Axle, and Brakes." Look for "EA81 automatic to 5 speed manual." The really good write up is called "Complete Recipe: EA81 auto->manual." Do a search for this one.

Either you broke the cable, or you didn't plug it back into the cluster all the way.

I literally write the service documentation for commercial diesel engines used in big rigs. The recommended oil change interval for our engines is 30-75,000 miles, depending on duty cycle (vocational is 30k mi, line haul is 75k mi). We specifically DO NOT allow supplemental oil additives, we do not allow "top offs," as long as you want to maintain your factory powertrain warranty.

There is a thread in the USRM that pretty thoroughly explains the parts you need and the modifications you need to make to the vehicle. I've done this swap using this how-to and it is stupid easy, as long as you have all the right parts. The how-to says you can't keep the cruise control, but I did, not hard at all.

I need to adjust the throttle cable in my car but the part of the sleeve that clips to the firewall is broken, rendering any adjustment useless. If any members live outside the US, would you please run this part number for me to see if its still active? 37114FA070 - Throttle cable This is the part number for a 1993 WRX Type-RA throttle cable, but I'm not 100% that is what is on this car. (It's not a EA82 or EA82T cable, that is certain.)

I'm installing an aftermarket steering wheel in my RX-RA and was wondering if anyone knew the pinouts on the 3-pin electrical connector on the clock spring of a cruise control equipped EA82? I looked in the FSM, but it wasn't obvious in the electrical section. I would just ground each pin to test for the horn honk, but I was already having issues with the horn in this car. Thanks in advance!

Subaru Scott, I'm sorry but no strut or shock, from any manufacturer, will last the life of a vehicle. OP, most struts start to wear out between 60-100k miles. The car don't have to bounce for the suspension to be worn out. It's mostly a "feel" thing, but if you've got the suspension off the car, there should be resistance when you try compressing the strut and it should try to rebound after you release it. -
Any 4WD rear axle from an EA81 chassis built from 1980 through 1989, but ONLY from an EA81. The joints are interchangeable, AFAIK, but the axle shaft lengths may be different on the EA71/EA82 chassis.
