  1. Make me an offer on the stereo. I actually think I have it in a box already, just need to visit my parent's house to grab it. If possible, I would suggest looking for a clean donor rocker panel in the JY and cutting out the bent pieces, replacing the entire damaged area. I've yet to do this myself, so it is purely speculation on my part. The digi-dash bridge I HAVE crossed, so if you have any questions there I'd be more than happy to help.
  2. Looks like you've found the extended family of my white hatch.
  3. Do you have pics of your mounting setup? I'm trying to figure something out for my IC, but would like to see what others have cooked up before I dive in.
  4. Good looking score! If you decide not to fix it or whatever, there are a few parts I'd like for my T-Hardtop (Seats, door panels, etc). I also have a digital radio like the one your hardtop has, if you're still interested.
  5. You did sit the two springs, 2wd and turbo, side by side before installing them, right? These cars and parts are old and unique enough that any mods need to be done on a car-by-car basis to ensure consistent results. As for cutting the springs; do 1/4 to 1/2 a coil at a time. OR you could just find the equation used to determine spring rates, calculate the old rates, subtract the number of coils you plan on cutting out. Recalculate the spring rates and make sure they are close enough to run comfortably. Screw it, here you go: http://www.engineersedge.com/spring_comp_calc.htm
  6. There isn't going to be much clearance for wide tires on the rear end of the gen 1s. Four Wheeler back in '76 found that the B78x13 Eldorado tires they fitted on their lifted gen 1 wagon would get stuck in the fender wells, keeping the rear suspension from drooping. I know that 185/70/13s fit a gen 1 stage 1 4WD and a gen 1 BRAT without rubbing at stock height. Beyond that, I think it will be trial and error as to fitting larger tires.
  7. His car is 2WD, so no "Posture adjustment" on his struts.
  8. Very trick! I like what I see coming out of your workshop, its always high quality.
  9. So you must have won the ebay auction for those three Jackman's huh?
  10. Do you want a turbo with your EJ or not? Seriously, that's pretty much the only question that needs answering as it will determine the difficulty of swapping in the best fitting engine. That and do a search for EA to EJ engine swaps, lots of info out there.
  11. Like how cheap? I'm fairly certain that the '75 and maybe the '84 wagon need at least a recharge if not more intimate care.
  12. Where is that huge dancing banana when you need him? Here's his little cousin...
  13. WOW!! A helpful reply that isn't a snide remark and a brush-back! Yeah, I wasn't thinking about bringing my lowered wagon or anything crazy like that, just wondering if there was going to be anything besides trail runs all day. I don't even know if I'll be making it out for this event yet. Its just that this meet was billed as an off road event IN ADDITION to being an "old school" get together. The last old school meet was fun, but this one seems to be leaning a different direction from the last one and I was curious.
  14. There wont be much planned to do besides offroading and offroad related activities huh?
  15. Sooooo, no info or what? I need to plan ahead to take the time off work. Should we even plan on having a WCSS this year? Seems like the old school meet is taking precedence.
  16. If I only had the cash... I'm happy with what I have; for the time being. Hopefully this well of sweet JDM wheels doesn't dry up before I grab a set plus a spare or three.
  17. Sure hope that Subaru version of DI makes it to market, it would suck if it became a still-born technology for Fuji.
  18. So I've been told in the past that to fit EA82 control arms on my EA81, I would have to relocate the inboard lower control arm mounts. Here are the old threads: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6197&highlight=ea81+ea82 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7115&highlight=ea81+ea82 Anyway, now I have a spare crossmember I can start fiddling around with. Can anyone tell me, by looking at the pictures below, in what direction and how far I would have to move the mount to fit EA82 lower control arms to my EA81? I don't really see where or how the mount could be moved except inwards.
  19. How can you tell if the pump is still good? I just picked up a PS setup, but don't know if the pump is any good.
  20. The stud furthest away from the turbine inlet on the VF-11 and TD series turbos is set further back where as the earlier ones are the same, except that one stud is closer to the inlet. Rob, I feel the pain on the manifold. I had one start coming apart on a trip to Whistler, B.C. a few years back. By the time I got home, I had almost no power. Glad I lightened my passenger load in Bellingham, otherwise I might have overheated it.
  21. Sweetest deal I've heard of all year! Don't you have another XT6? Whats the plan for that one?
  22. Just some FF-1 stuff you might be interested in: http://cgi.ebay.com/Old-WHEELS-Magazine-Jan-1970-Mazda-Jaguar-Subaru_W0QQitemZ290298086182QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Clothing_Merchandise_Media?hash=item290298086182&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A4|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A200
  23. Will there be any non-lifted activities? Bump for WCSS info.
