  1. Thanks for all the replys. My Dad is an electical engineer by trade and said he would have no problem fixing the PCB. I was more curious about what folks think about the gauges failing at a different point. Does someone else have a blown digi dash that has blown in one of the two places outlined in this thread or in a different spot?
  2. Over Memorial Day weekend I took my spare digi dash and stuck it in my wagon. No gauges. Pulled the sucker apart and found that it had burned out in a different location from where other's had. Any thoughts on this?
  3. My flapper door MAF'ed turbo wagon has been running a K&N for over 30k miles with no problem and has a 1,000,000 mile warrenty. Can't beat that for $50. As for oil getting on the hot-wire MAF and killing it, give me a F'ing break. The ECU is designed to send a burst of voltage to the MAF on start-up AND shut-down to burn off any residue there may be on the sensor. If you REALLY slather your filter up, maybe there will be too much oil to burn off, but lets be realistic. A K&N is going to help your car, not hurt it.
  4. I'd be in for a set of repro-decals for a 1975 and 1980.
  5. WOW!! Grover, pleased to meet you! Always nice to see a sick, clean hatch!
  6. Can't really reproduce the sound while stationary, it seems that the noise is loudest under load. Also, the knock is not deep and hollow. It doesn't sound like rod knock that I've heard before.

  8. My hood release is hard to operate. By hard, I mean that I have to pull with over 50lbs of force or more to pop it open. Can I adjust this? Where and how? Does anyone know where to lubricate the system? Heres hoping I don't bust the cable before this gets sorted out.
  9. Sweet looking wagon! You didn't happen to get that from Carter Subaru did you?
  10. You mean like this? This happened to me on the way up to Whistler B.C. Thankfully it didn't crack the entire way through until I was back in the States. After this, I decided to do away with the factory pipe. It had proven its self not up to the task. Installed this: I have also cut the silencer off my EA81Ts airbox, but have not had any boost creep. Pretty much everything besides the intake and exhaust is stock.
  11. How have I not seen this post for so long? What kind of engine management are you running? Can you elaborate on your other electric mods? Pics of your header?
  12. Can you take some more detailed pics of where you notched the frame to clear the valve covers? I was thinking of a similar swap, maybe into a wagon.
  13. Looks like a good time! I'll have to get my dumb hatch fixed and take it up next time the easy trails are being run.
  14. Take it somewhere else and have them align it. These guys sound pretty inept at their jobs.
  15. So you're the one who bought those NOS center caps.... Looks good.
  16. Haven't preoperly cleaned the seals, and they are pretty nasty. I'll put that on the to do list. I don't know about adding any more washers. I've seen too many of the latches cracked to want to add any more resistance to the mechanism.
  17. I've got the appropriate car sans engine and tranny as well as the transmission in question. I could try slipping them together this weekend. Hmmmm, ideas just came to my head....
  18. I'm pretty new to the Gen1 camp, having driven nothing but Gen2s and WRXs. I'm trying to get to know this chassis a little better and was hoping you guys could shed some light on what your favorite modification(s) are. Is there a better brake recipe for stage 1 cars? Easier way of getting that new iPod-ready stereo to mount? Know how to keep the clock from fast-forwarding time? I want to know what you have done, and why/how it's benefited you. I'll start. My favorite mod is jumping into a Gen1 brat after driving a suspicious EA82T wagon.
  19. I'd still like to get my hands on one of these set-ups. Headlight washers and rear seat shoulder belts too. Can anyone help me?
  20. Update: I installed the washers like you suggested. It seems to have cured the leak on one side, and slowed the other. Any other ideas?
