  1. This is where I would go for engines http://www.ccrengines.com/ .. There is shipping involved but They are people you can trust. As for help I have pulled and put back my engine a few times so I can give you a hand but I am no mechanic.
  2. Fuel filters are two months old and haven't solved the problem since I bought the car.. tried putting fuel in carb with no success. Coil has power and was replaced a few times with known to be good coils. spark plugs were replaced 15k miles ago. just replaced cap and rotor. and Qman did the last timing job on it.. granted that was two years ago but if it works you don't play with it.
  3. Well went to Qman's place last night and he played with the choke and set it according to his two weberized vehicles and needed to wait till morning to see what would happen.. Choke appears to be working properly now but there seems to be minimal or no gas.. hence it wont fire.. I would say the bowl isn't holding fuel but, as stated b4 it only does it when cold. May have to go knock on Qman's door once again.. In ther interim any ideas?
  4. It appears to be all hooked up but i wasn't the one to put it on. The choke works and is electric. I know it isn't the fuel pump sonce once started it will contimue to run but getting it started when cold is a PITA. I was told that the carb is not 32/36 other than that i really have no clue.. the carb came with the car.
  5. Has anyone been there lately? looking for a few odds and ends but don't necessarily wanna go if they dont have more at least 1 or 2 EA81s in the yard. The last time I went that was the problem.
  6. The colder the temp the harder to start.. Below 40 I simply don't bother and take the wifes Neon..(Plus it has heat.. Still trying to scrape money for the heater core though that's a little O.T.) Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix for it?
  7. I have the same problem with my Weber but only seems to do it when the weather is warm/hot.. or after running the car hard. Though when it comes to plugs I have no idea what I am looking at to choose a colder plug.. suggestions? Sorry for the hi-jacking but I thought it may be ok since it pertains to the subject.
  8. Some pretty cool stuff in there but nope.. This was (if memory serves) a one of a kind from subaru. Pic was in a showroom or something similar, I don't believe it had any graphics on it.
  9. Now that I have your attention. Who had the link or pics of this car.. it had a rear spoiler and ground effects.. I can't seem to find it.
  10. At least it is nothing to worry about. Thanks for the help now to wait till the weather clears up.
  11. The car is a ea81 hatch with no emmissions left on on it. (it's all been stripped by previous owner) I replaced the EGR valve but there is no vacuum hose for it simply isnt there. I have had the car for 3 1/2 years and the light never came on b4 but I can't seem to figure it out or find any useful info on what the problem is.. Help the thing is gonna drive me crazy.
  12. Looks like a fun day out for you two.. I Cheated and piled two kids and the wife into the neon, (ya ya give me break already!) and headed for Crystal mountain so the munchkins could play in the snow.. We made a sport of spotting subes.. I'd say 115 in 45 minutes isnt too shabby.
  13. If the EA82 is anything like the EA81 then you remove the nut on the bottom of the lower control arm then remove the bolt that holds it into the steering knuckle. without any kind of puller put a scissor jack and a 2x4 under the control arm touching the bolt and giver her a lift.. the bolt should come loose but may need a bit of hard steel loving by way of hammer. Then you find the groove on the back of the steering knuckle and tap a screw driver or wedge into it and wiggle the ball joint out.. If it doesn't someone else wil l have to help you.
  14. I replaced my old lights with the silver stars and my lights still seem dim and are still yellow but a lighter shade.
  15. My front end was jacked up a bit but as I brought both sides down (as evenly as I could) they dropped to different levels. So I have to lower one side more than the other. All in all my severe tire wear is down to just annoying.. hopefully will have some free time one weekend soon to finish the job.
  16. The only other thing i saw was the Loctite version.. available pretty much everywhere so long as it's in stock.
  17. The hatch is like 150# lighter than the brat.. and the scale at work shows a little over 1800.. but then again dont know when it was last calibrated.
  18. That will just make it convenient for the sube shows during the summer.
  19. I highly recommend running a new constant power wire. The factory wire is insufficient to power newer decks.. I would say between 12-14 AWG wire. It is easy. The ground and ACC power are ok to use the factory wires though.. A test light may take about ten minutes to find the correct wires but makes a wiring diagram unnecessary.
  20. Is there a fix for screwed up drivers seat in an 86 EA81 hatch?.. I feel like one of the dropped (I think I am cool) Honda owners.. The seat decided it didn't want to stay upright anymore.
  21. Dang Noah people are still catching their breath from the show and you want plans for the Xmas tree run already? It should be late Nov or early Dec.. start looking for the thread around October.
  22. Very cool Jamie. It is good to see Subes get a little more attention.
