  1. How whould I check those, or rather what am I looking for?
  2. I had my 86 Hatch aligned about a year ago and the camber was never right.. So I tried lowering the front to see if it would help.. Nada. The car is still removing the outside edge of the tire on drivers side.. It was affecting the passenger side too but the lowering of the front end seems to have stopped the wear on that side. Is there anything else that will cause the camber to be way off like that? The front is cranked down as far as it will go. Mike
  3. They may not have it listed but you can call them and it should be available.. never had a problem b4. Mike
  4. Corky I didn't mean any personal slight.. just in case my comment annoyed you. Mike
  5. Much better.... You have a great imagination and serious skills with photoshop. Mike
  6. Naahh. i would have wanted it about 8-10 inches higher with wheels more like the beast...ok maybe not that big but you get the idea.
  7. my guess is a AWD three door with a EJ20T... prolly had some issues with getting it to run consistantly.. And unless it changed hands again I know who has it.. But I will never tell.. I promised.
  8. She had done a lot of nice work. Maybe we can find another for her to restore.. looks like there a limited # of good parts still on that to aid in restoration. Mike
  9. The meeting place is near Qmans house but from your neck of the woods I would try to meet up with Eric b4 he leaves @ 7 sharp..or so he always says.
  10. Thanks that gives me something to work with. Mike
  11. Send me some pics of your door panels.. I have a few ideas but am not sure how to proceed.. mykeystoy@comcast.net
  12. Thanks Skip I will give that a try as well. Rob would that be th XT6 on Locust? I had to stop when i saw it for sale while on my route. Funny it doesn't look to be in bad shape at all for that price. Mike
  13. The dash speakers are unique..Your best bet is to go 3 1/2 coaxial and mfg a bracket but those sound very bad to me. I cut out some of the foam on the inside and got 4 1/2s stuffed in there and done sound to bad either, but you definately need something for midbass whether it be a set of 61/2s in the door or an 8" or two in the back. Mike
  14. I guess i will have to try and make to the Suby dealer after work tomorrow.. I think I would like to have some heat again. Yup still around..Saw you hauling the big brat yesterday and and didnt realize it till you were past me. I am gonna have to make some time to BS sooner or later and check out the new house.. Mike
  15. A small inexpensive amp so 35-50 watts x 2 would help with the sound issue not the tonality mind you but will definately help with the sound. Many amps that are ( inexpensive ) have speaker level inputs.. but the common ground thing will be a PITA without putting an aftermarket deck in the car but then you wouldn't need an amp..
  16. country roads to the highway, so little of both only two or three stop lights/signs.
  17. This is a 86 Hatch.. anyway on with the Qs. When the car starts to become warm i have some heat but luke warm at best. The heat only lasts about 2-3 minutes then becomes cold. the heater core has been flushed with hose and system flush. after driving for a while (15 minutes or so) the car surpasses normal and climes half way between normal and hot and heater doesn't help. Does anyone know how to figure out whether it is the heater core or the water pump? The T-stat has been replaced recently and I have a few others I keep around to test just in case. Possibly related. Every morning especially when it's cold outside there is a whirring noise almost a whine but lasts about 15 seconds. Mike
  18. I think the front door speakers are 5" but can be modded to take 5 1/4..might be just Brats and Hatchbacks though.. I can't say for the rear doors.. Mike
  19. with the car running you can check it at the battery.. Mike
  20. I grumbled all day while I worked... I was hopin the trip would have been on another day. Oh well there is always next year and different trips to go on..when work allows.
  21. it sounds like it got hit with a few more than 12 volts.. works for a little while then cut out till it eventualy just stops working. A bad ground will cause the same thing and is just as deadly to a deck. Was the deck wired to the battery for the B+ or was the fuse box tapped? Newer decks need more current that older and stock decks and can (kinda rare) self destruct from low voltage trying to accommodate your volume needs..But that one usually just pops fuses. If you have checked all else take the deck back (if new) and either trade it or have one of the techs ( I use that term loosely) test on the bench. Mike
  22. Look at the stock tires on your Baha then go to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html find the overall diameter of your tire. and play with it till you find other tires that will fit.. you can do it at http://tirerack.com also but it takes a bit more effort.. to get the correct diameter for your car you may have to go with a 15 inch wheel.
  23. I am curious about the wire upgrade. How are you going to do it? If you upgrade from the alt to the harness, it is a waste of time since the factory harness abviously isn't going to take any large load. But, if you go to the battery from the alt it you'd have to tap power from the upgraded wires for the factory harness which would be a problem all in itself. Onto another thought.. if you have a large system or multiple off road lights and or air compressor (big current suckers) 10 Awg is not nearly sufficient.. If you even have plans to use something that will require 40-50 amps then i would go for at least 8 Awg which is good for 80-90 amps as long as the cable doen't exceed about 8'. 4Awg would be a big PITA but would provide the capacity to use lights stereo and a winch darn near simultaniously.. Mike
