  1. I will keep this in mind. Though I do try to do a follow up once I am done.
  2. From a few people heare enginehais is one to avoid. There is a guy in kent the deals with rebuilds or you might try CCR in colorado.
  3. Glad you got it worked out.. Nice build. The electric choke on mine would do the same thingmy problem was I tapped power from the wrong thing so it never worked. Once I figured that out it ran like a champ. I am not sure about the 78s but the pre muffler on the newer cars is a resonator which helps knock down some of the drone at higher rpm. So how does it sould the flowmaster? got a clip? Mike
  4. Do whatever else you can then Scott. Put her under a tarp or a shed till you can come back to it financially.
  5. So I have finished all I can do. There is definately something weird going on and I am afraid I am out of options for now so aftermarket here I come. I hope to revisit this issue at somepoint when I have more info or FSM to go off of. In the mean time.. Some opinion on this -->http://www.egauges.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=301-107 Is there something special about a tube type sender or will our stock ones work?.. Same resistance values and 90-0 like we need.
  6. Yes the engine. Make an appt to have it gone through. Take it somewhere that specializes in Subaru. With that many miles plus his upgrades and depending on the POs driving habits the tranny may be trouble. I would get it looked at before purchase. If the car is your second or 3rd then go for it and make it a project just in case stuff happens. If this will be your only ride you might want to pass until you can afford something like this.. These are like women they can be high maintenance.
  7. Honestly I think that is a pretty fair price. I wouldn't have any problem jumping on. The part that would worry me most is the tranny. If he blew the stock turbo which is common he got very lucky that the engine didn't go also could be a time bomb but IDK. Engines are easy to come by and the turbo issue is literally a $10 fix and about a 5 minute job and has saved a lot of LGTs from dead turbos and motors. Body is not my forte so I have nothing there. I have a 05 LGT Here in running condition with high miles is still $8-10k
  8. IF you do use the ea82 intake I believe you also need to use the EA82 adapter kit. Someone that has both or some pics could confirm.
  9. It sounds like you know your way around a car pretty well so it is only a difference in how things are put together. Maybe try searching outside the forum may net you some better redults.I know we are not exclusive with using webers so samurai, jeep and yota forums are likely to pop up. As for the adapter I think scott in bellingham adapted the intake instead of using the adapter but you could try dropping him a PM. He might be able to do something for you. I have talked with him a few times and he is genuinely a nice guy.. Granted it has been a few years and he has since opened his own machine shop. since then. One other thing. The build threads are in the members ride section. A mod may move this for you at some point. The general forum tends to be questions and showing off and just chatter bout the subes. Be as specific as you can when you want to know something and dont be afraid to start a new thread for differing issues. Hope this helps some
  10. That is just a pipe leaning on the other car. Look closely and you can clearly see the exhaust stop @ the bumper.
  11. Honestly I love the gen 3 sedans almost as much as the gen 2s. If I were in the market for one I would have a hard time with 2k with your CL pics. If it were in really good shape (no major blemeshes or dents) and everything works with no rust I could probably 2.5 . To go more has been covered by other posters. Good luck.
  12. Very well carry on! glad it decided to play nice today. Whats next on the to do list? How long before the body restoration? When are you moving out west?
  13. Thanks Jono traced it back and made a jumper to reach the length of the car to the sender. It took a while but I did find the other lead. It is in a plug instead of the pins. Funny I have continuity on both wires.. Sooooo I swapped clusters with one known to be good turned the key and everything works but the damned gauge. So a little update and a little rant. The saga will continue on another day before I start breaking stuff. Cheers! Mike
  14. The trick to axle nuts is usually a friend or a long bar/ lug wrench pry bar etc. The weber is a good find just check around for the jets sizing and such.. Maybe someone that is a little more weber savvy will chime in. you will need a base adapter many of us use the weber base adapter but there is another made by trnsdapt or someting that from what I hear works better or fits better I don't recall off hand. Mike
  15. IDK about the front brakes but I would bet the rears will fit most of the ea series seams to be interchangeable at least on the rear.
  16. He has been banned for a long time. If he is still here here has kept very quiet.
  17. The wheels look good. I think it will be a squeeze though. I can't say on the NGK wires I usually get them locally just so I can take them back if I have to.
  18. Is it still blue? Back to topic. I pulled old fan thermo switch and replaced it.. Fan didn't come on so I unplegged the fan and look at the connection. All this time it was a bent spade connection.. Oh well I have a back up. Tomorrow maybe I can trace my fuel gauge wiring.. I love progress. Mike
  19. I think the XT would be better suited to a gull wing door.
  20. So today I played with frog tape and silicone for my hated sunroof.. We shall see! or maybe just stay dry when it rains.. I would be ok with that.
  21. Do a google search for row 52. You can search multiple wrecking yards at once for a specific car. This saves a lot of time.
