Its all gravy.. you *were* right, the other thread mentioned nothing about purchasing one, beyond [HTi]Dain's offer to fab one up... and THAT post was the one that led me astray.
I got a little peeved for a moment, then read both threads side by side and realized it was water off a duck's back. An apology is more than enough.
Heh, Can a guy really apolagize for being a man  (its a joke, just in case).

Welcome! I was a newbie once, too - and the welcome I got was great. I think you'll find this place is an AWESOME wealth of info.
maaan... the welcome I got wasn't that great...

Ahh, sweet. There ya go!

This is what I fab'ed for my self. I'm going to make one for Hatchsub, if I can get it to him in time...

While we're offtopic...
This thread tells me:
What's in your squad. A squad is kinda like a team in my mind. And a bunch of my cars wouldn't be a team. A bunch of mates would. So A pic of your mates cars plus one of your own = a squad in my mind. And you have to remember, the past is the past, now is now.. Post pictures of your car you drive now, not the last 15years of history...
He showed us his car, and two of his mates cars. So this futher points out that it's not about "all my cars, have a look." But about all the guys and their cars you wheel with.
Maybe take comments a little less personally?
The Brat looks cool, but I have to agree with Rootinater, unless you have some good gearing, those tires are just a problem.
Sorry for going off topic, but everyone else seemed to and I wanted some of the action.. AWAY
Hey all, I'M INOCENT! Whats teh big f'in deal anyway??? the guy said he wanted to see what we wheel with. so I posted the TWO pictures of the TWO CARS I WHEEL with. The two "RIP" pictures are recent losses to our Soob crew...so sorry! :-\ And I posted the one other car that is left, or I guess, our "newest" arrival. And you guys just bring heat for no reason!!!!??? Can't you learn to just keep it to yourself? unless you have something positive to contribute. People make mistakes; so what?
Even though you may think we are complete retards (in the eye of the beholder) we know the pro's and con's of the bigger tires. Savage actually scored a damn sweet deal on those wheels/tires -- 150$ all four! Our deadline for the project is coming up on the 18th of this month. Its been alot of work, and money is a little short. Savage just doesn't have the time, or money to get the smaller tires right now. So we figured we would try 'em out anyway... big deal.
PS
this response isn't directed at Phizinza, but at the "off topic/highjack"

Yep, thats just awsome! I don't think i'd jump a "nice" car. But a less than nice car...we already have...hhehehe. Anyway, you have a sick loookin Soob crew

Let me know if you would want me to fabricate you something. It would be fairly cheap to ship a small bracket.
-
HEll yeah, I fixed that thing good! check it out!
I wish I put a tape measure next to it (duuuuh) but I fab'ed a piece of steel about 3in. if i remember right, and took the throttle cable bracket for the Carter Weber set-up, and tac welded it together. I also had to do some extra bending in the piece I made, obviously. infact, you could easily just fabricate the whole entire thing!

I offroad my black Brat, and Wagon(its gettin a 4 inch lift in a couple months)
R.I.P. "tHE Hatch"
Buuuuut now! I getta roll next to this! EA71-81, 4in. lift with 30x9.5's! don't act like you're not impressed.
R.I.P. the "White Wagon" aka "Wag" but EA81 comeing soon as a replacement.

HTi is headin to Florence, Oregon for Rhody Days, May 18-20th. we're bringing our subaru rigs, and probalby some ATVs out to South Jetty to tear up the sanddunes. we might even have a bonfire/party saturday night, or something. anyway, it'll be a good time. so reply back if ya want to go, and we can meet up in Florence, or whereever. Bring any rig you want, but anthing non-subaru...be prepaired to take aLOT of crap for it we like to talk it up:banana:

Where is Sand Lake?
-
coffee grounds will also work to clog a leak, its recomenned for a field emergancy
-
around 80$ for a CCR head! THAT would be your best bet

Me and my buddies just run 3.5in. resonators (hollerd out Cherrybombs ) that would be called "having something" those muffelers kill the soob rumble, and gas milage. open up that exhaust!
-
Its hard to say... but always start simple, ya know. The fuel might be slightly off from sitting, fresh gas is always a good thing. Of course, check your plugs, wires, and fuel filters, the tune up works. Another thing to look for would be rat nests. they might have chewed some wires or something. look in the air cleaner...which you probably have already, but whatev. I'm sure the Weber is just fine. maybe it has enough miles on it for a rebuild though? just some thoughts.
-
YOu might even be able to just buy from teh parts store "pre flared" pieces of hard line, and bend them your self (without a bender)... infact, that is what [HTi]Savage did for his lift:cool: .
-
I guess I felt like it should have its own post... Shes pretty much done, needs some exhaust though.
-
(Savage L.A.'s) EA71-81 Brat Lift Project pics... check 'em!
-
I suppose you could junk yard it?
-
lol, we need an 'over the head' smiley.
we're talking about pulling a front axle and putting it in 4WD for front engine RWD. in a subaru.
Exactly, its that simple! but how much modification does this guy want to do? all you really need is at least one "stub" axle for the front (its better with two) and part-time 4wd, or a center-diff in AWD.

Yeah,my car backfires all the time too, just haven't got it figured out yet. It's a 1986 gl wagon, when I gas it fairly hard, when I shift it really pops.It done it hard enough it blew my muffler out.Hope someone here can help you out.
Ya know what I think? I think its a Subaru Thing, and maybe we ought to leave it at that!
Nah, I think alot of the backfiring is attributed by the emissions stuff, like the pulse air, especially. once you disco. that thing, it WILL stop backfiring between shifting, but will still pop when decelerating (EA81 style, i'm not realy sure about EA82).

'82 Subaru EA81 NA, JDM motor, just droped it in, the pump is leak free -- runs a good 50psi, idles at 25psi.
