  1. After years of having nicer, newer Subarus, I finally got my hands on another old EA82 (it had been years since I owned an EAA car). 86 GL. Check this thing out! Man, I missed these old rattle traps. My daily driver for the past year has been a 2011 outback. I love it to death, but I do miss beating an old Sube around in the woods and not worrying about the appearance. By the way, is anyone making lift kits for the 2010+ OBW yet? I'd love a little boost for mine (and maybe a brush guard).
  2. I love that color, love those wheels, love hawkeye imprezas. well done, sir. I really want a dang hawkeye. Trade me for my 08 WRX?
  3. either way, it's a lot of work. merging harnesses is a PITA. if you google "WRX swap" you'll find tons of build threads from many different forums that can help you see what it looks like. lots of these guys take great care to document and photograph every step of the process.
  4. oh, man. I just realized you never mentioned buying a Jap clip and swapping it. If you mean using USDM parts, you're golden. sorry - my head was up my butt. Get a wrecked 02-05 WRX and swap away! emissions won't be a problem
  5. those are the turbocharged 2.0 engines sold in cars outside the US market. you wanna look at which options best suit your needs/finances. the 20H and 20R are twin turbo, so they're less popular. NASIOC has a ton of build threads. run some searches over there.
  6. the harness merge will be the most complicated, difficult part of the swap. do you have to pass emissions where you live? this will affect the engine management choices you have
  7. either way, you absolutely must use the metal gaskets. composite gaskets = the root of all evil
  8. the holy grail!!! it has everything great!!! the last year of non-interference 2.2 raised suspension hill holder
  9. ^ wow. I didn't know that. I've only been rebuilding EJ25s for about 5 years. interesting...
