  2. well i got it out today. got it far enought to twist the head and off it came.
  3. dont take out that dash that adds a extra 100Hp and those aftermarket pedals and Shift knob wow. theres 300 bolt on HP right there.
  4. well looks like that but on a smaller scale it's not nearly that long. just worried im gonna spend money on pretty much nothing cuz im gonna get it back together and rip it back apart if it leaks. and i deff. dont wanna do that
  5. went to the junkyard and pulled a head offa my dads old xt i knew that it was good at one point but it still has a crack in the exaust port. so should this be a less cause of concern since its a gen 3?
  6. its the turbo side of the engine. i could be interested in gettin one from you but it all depends on shipping cost and how long it takes to get here. i need my car runnin by hopefully this thursday maybe sat. PM with some info, cost, time and shipping cost. thanx spokanesoob
  7. i think im gonna have this problem when i put my heads back on. my dad has used heli coil on his subi and no know ill effects so i'll prolly do the same
  8. well one side is fine it looks like no cracks in the exhaust port. they both have cracks between the valves. and the pass. side has cracks in the port. so can i get one new head or do i have to replace both:confused: and would it be worth the time to send the exhaust port crack one to a machine shop or is too far gone?
  9. well the heads off and it has about a 1/4 inch gap but i think im going to try the drill method my dad works at a machine shop so i dont think it would be hard to get a good bit.
  10. wow, so i broke a bolt on each side of the manifold one slid out and i was able to get the head off on that side but the other bolt is stuck so i have a head sitting on a manifold. i tryed to twist it off but it seems like there is something holding it up. i would like to get the heads into the shop soon this is really making me mad. anybody got any ideas? 88rx ea82T

  12. i searched but didn't find much so i tried asking.
  13. well got my engine out today big surprise on the pass. side there is a hairline crack in the exaust port.......... it never really smoked other than startup but the few times i got a whiff of it it was just exaust smelling so im assuming its just water in the pipes no coolant another thing is the exaust ports look wet is that normal? 88rx. what should i do? anybody got a pair of heads layin around? :(
  14. what kind of clutch can you use in a 88rx? just curious will a xt6 work? and is there a diffrence between 2wd and 4wd
  15. searched but no results. what kind of gear oil do i put into my rx's LSD. pretty sure it has never been changed in 166k thanks
  16. at a local shop here when my dad was rebuilding his xt, the guy said that american made clutches on subarus useally shudder. i was wondering if thats true or not. but he bought american made and guess what? yep it shudderd for about 3k
  17. 88 rx. so what is the need for dumping the air? or is it just for sound? i do love that sound. oh and another prolly dumb question where do you plumb in the line for a boost gauge?
  18. well i found myself thinking, and im pretty dangerous when i partake in such acts, but i came to the realization i know Jack squat about turbo "terms" and what,i assume, is basic knowledge. so i have a few questions. like, how to hook up and run a intercooler, and a BOV, and whats the diffrence between a BOV and BVP if thats even the right abbreviation? also, what are the advantages and dis advantages, and is the waste gate actuator still hooked up with the Bov? im thinking im a noob when it comes to turbos. but, unlike most of my friends i want to learn instead of going the hey put this on my car for me here is 2 grand and i dont care how or why it works, route. thanks guys, oh and sorry if this is the wrong section for this thread.   19. yes great minds indeed. i really dont know that much about the ej platform but i really want to swap one into my rx eventually and then i got to thinking of ways around it and i thought of this. i think i have Sadd subaru attention deficit disorder
  20. just daydreaming and it popped into my head. i was thinking hmmmm i don't ever remember reading about it so i figured i would ask. it would be deff. interesting to see though. arnt there programs out there that can RE write a ecu or something like that? just wonderin
  21. i was wondering if there was a way to make a EJ22 or EJ25 run on EA82T eletronics? i'm not saying i want to try it just wondering if that is at all feasible. im talking about just the heads intake and block but ea turbo electronics. if its not how come?
  22. i like the way those lights look on that hatch. i have only seen one skyline in spokane. its a right hand drive and its silver and nice. i think his cuz. owns a silver supra too theres a fast car . too bad its not a Subaru product
  23. oh i missed that comment. testy, thats insane. i'm picturing a xt gettin on the free way at wot and then all of the sudden the hood just flys up and all you see is a peice of aluminum with the words TURBO SUBARU flying backwards. man i bet that was fun.
