  1. did you put the disty in, there are different timing marks on the flywheel, they mean different things
  2. It is possible, a little grinding welding, ( 6 hrs worth) , its very solid, i Even welded a 12x1.75 nut and a plate to bolt the radius rod mount to, all i need is 6 hours for the other side, you wont get rich fixing you own Subaru, for sure, but at least when i hit a mud puddle i wont get blasted in the face
  3. their a pain on the car, i usally remove the whole hub, but thats alot of xtra work.. keep at it.. i feel your pain brother
  4. Ive had mouse nests around the manifold, or dust and oil burning off when the car sits for a while, hmm no stray sausage, that would be cool I love sausage , we use to cook foil dinners on the manifold when traveling I80 to the Rocky's, when I was a kid.
  5. Just start off in low 4x4 run 33,s (if you have a dual range)
  6. I would check the grounding strap, or straps ( earths ) in england. if its an intermittent problem, engine grounds ,body grounds, coil module grounds etc, clean all of them, and use a dielectric grease....
  7. even if the wires are wrong you should atleast get a backfire or somthing ?
  8. I have heard of people lengthening the control arms, if you have access to a metal saw and a welder
  9. Does you heat defrost fan work on all 4 speeds by any chance. these are very common problems on all ea82 Subaru's
  10. are you sure the blocks are in the right oreintation, 15 degree off set ? that much lift shouldnt cause a massive amount of camber
  11. GIGGLY DASH.. haha funny.....oh well it was to me. i always wanted a digi dash, they look so cool. like back to the future....88 miles per hour.... bamm!
  12. I took off the engine mount bolts and jacked the engine up about 4 inches, this gives you clearance to get the rear bolts off, are you sure it all the oil pan leaking. as your driving the wind blows oil from the cam seals and valve covers and drips all over the exhaust as well
  13. i get them in the fuel door and in side the side veiw mirrors, pesky little friggets
  14. I made my bushings from plastic rods I found at ace hardware, and the same size drill bit, they worked good.
  15. Michigan rocks someone with a Subaru that isn't 2000 miles away, sounds like my weekend... I rebuilt my old rack and pinion , both boots were blown, (non power steering). lots of rusted bolts etc etc , i got most of my stuff off ebay. if you have time to wait. ...keep em runnin...
  16. Saturdays progress all the repair panels are made by hand , cut -bend -weld- repeat
  17. brats have become a classic "collectors Item" and the price is going up up up there almost never found in Michigan, at least in usable condition. i saw one in a junkyard ( Detroit area)that was listed on ebay, it was badly rusted, but still running/driving. it went for $750 bucks
  18. do you need ( auto to 5 speed) (4 speed to dual range 5 speed) im guessing auto to 5 speed dr
  19. VOTE........however the pin head party that starts with a D , that I wont name so I wont offend any one, is hell bent on taking our liberty away. our vote has consequences . (oooh were in a recession so lets spend an ungodly amount of money ) it would be like.. if i lost my job and decided to rack up all my credit cards and print my own money. that should help. all politicians regardless of party say one thing to get elected, and do another thing once there in VOTE VOTE VOTE
  20. drilling out the bolt isn't that bad, takes about 1/2 hour per side, even if you nerple the threads you can use a grade 5 3/8-16 bolt and nut, that go all the way thru, I used a nylock type locking nut. you have to be very careful not to drill at an angle. I step the sizes of drills. 1/8 than 1/4 than 5/16 than 3/8, but most of the time it will come out, with it being hollowed out you can crush the bolt inward with a chisel. it is a pain, and I use 3% cobalt drills.
