  1. DONT WORRY. they will have turbos soon enough. and cant you order one with a 6cyl yet?
  2. PURE BULL SH!T you can prove anything if you are doing the tests
  3. but remember to take the cap off of the master, can make all the difference.
  4. yah. what are you slackers talking about? he needs the flywheel and clutch from a 4x4. tranny splines are different:D
  5. well. alot of old subarus, over like 70k miles, dont like to go into frist untill youare almost stopped. its because the first gear is so short, and the syncros are going bad. it wont effect anything else, except shifting into first. doesnt mean the tranny will go bad in the near future. and the oil pressure? is that at idle or on the highway? at idle the pressure could be that low and be safe.
  6. and airing down is only good when you have like 26inch tires or bigger. if you aired down some 13 inch 185/80s you would just loose too much ground clearance, and chance hurting a wheel. but on my 4runner with 31s its awesome to run 15lbs! makes all the difference some times. and the bfgs and lots of off road tires have side treadsl, so they turn into ground treads. some offroad articles i have read say if you have never broken a bead, you run too much pressure. dont know about that though
  7. WHOOHOO good thing my info was wrong. i was asking a while back and was told that only ea81 stuff will fit. sorry for the bad info. thats great!
  8. LAND SPEED RECORD http://www.pro-blend.com/production.html#pro and thats a justy, i havent found too much about old subaru land speed attempts, but heres one cool one. anybody got any others?
  9. no way thats crazy. i had a feeling they did different stuff all together outside of the us.
  10. they can get bad enough to effect performance. once i couldnt go over 50mph. and the tach was all over the place, along with all guages. for some reason my regulators always go bad, never the alternator itself. weak link i guess.
  11. why is that. is it just because you couldnt do anything without taking the motor out? why isnt there any ea82 cars with ea81s in them from the factory? and why wasnt there a turbo hatch? they turboed everything else! just wondering, dodge put a hemi in a dart, and it wasnt supposed to fit either! not that i am comparing subarus to mopar
  12. i cant remember... doh! the chiltons is correct if you have a manual. same for ea81 and 82
  13. OH MAN dont use the little clamps, i had one come loose the other day. good thing i watch my guages like a paranoid meth addict:D . i am using the huge ones that are for hydrolic lines. 3/8s is good for this. my kit came with someting slightly bigger. how bout putting it where the spare goes? and cutting a hole in the hood with a fan, or in an inner fender well(sounds scary, but mitsubishis put their intercoolers there).
  14. how bout pulling that ac condenser off to check how much air flow that restricts? coolant tems should drop a tiny bit.
  15. dont brats only have 2 doors? cant you reach them realy easy. just my thoughts:brow:
  16. if you have a car that has an efi system readily available in junk yards... it just doenst make sense to turbo a carburetor. thats why there are NO production vehicles with a turbo carb setup. other than old school stuff. just doesnt make sense. and its more dangerous, and crappy tunability... the list goes on and on. EFI step into the 20th century
  17. all the honda guys with the vtech swaps have pretty good luck, but... i have heard all day long that the jap motors have never had their oil changed and all that. but... would you not change your oil if you were only going to have the car for 40 or 50k miles? NO. it doesnt make sense to me. some guys over here dont change their oil as often as they sould... maybe one looser didnt change his oil and it gave them all a bad name. i say if its got less than 100k miles, and its a subaru, its gonna go for at least another 100k.
  18. make the 30s fit. they have been a pipe dream for so long... why not make them work, its not like you care about hamering andsawing the body
  19. they WILL fit under the hood, and under the fenders. just push when you put them under the hood... you gotta push hard... but they fit in mine
  20. i just flat blacked my wagon with 96cent walmart paint 8DOLLAR PAINTJOB
  21. wastegate should stick out of the hood! or at least a fender but thats only good with a boost controller. otherwise its loud all the time
