  1. mine hits 100 with 28 inch tires, and a 4 speed. something must be wrong, even the one i had with 250k would do 115. cut that exhaust off, and get a cone filter! spark plugs, and cap and wires would be about the only tune up part that would hinder speed.
  2. theres no lsds in minnesota chux =/. just iowa =] i have an 86 4x hatch with a weber slight rust, not much visible from outside. 127k miles. some other mods. 5 lug swap stuff, minus the real calipers(any rear caliper will do) 4 xt6 wheels with crappy tires on them. 5 speed xt6 tranny with 250k miles on it. countless wagon wheels... hehe the list could go on and on.
  3. after seeing that oil pump ripped of. i realy like the idea of putting a spacer in the rear of the skid plate, not the front...
  4. i always wondered,in the front, do you have to pound inner fenders, where the strut touches the unibody, more, or less with a 6 inch, compared to a 4 inch
  5. what constitutes a minitruck? i think garner has it pretty much covered, with a brat with lotsa hp, and lowered. and all that... subaru built you a frame, its connected to the body... wtf? i'll believe it when i see it, just like i said one year ago, when you started talkin about it.
  6. um... theres a country song out now... get a little mud on the tires!
  7. oh, ya did the rear? have fun with the front
  8. my hatch will do 100+ thats with a gps on the dash. it actualy smooths out alot past70, and acts like it likes it.... cept for the lack of a front sway bar =] with an ea82 mpfi motor, and some 26 inch tires, it would go right up to 85, on the speedo then stop, so i figure 90something... funny how the extra 50-70 horsepower doesnt net a much higher mph... i used to race my dad in his z71, and i knew if i got up to 100 he would slowly fade into the rear view, cuz his was governed at 97 lol!
  9. i've done 4500 rpms in a solid lifter brat from mn to texas (14 hours minimum) several times.
  10. pleanty of room for any of those motors in that xt6. should about bolt in
  11. you wont need a rising rate regulator, if you build your system for boost. you will use a 3 bar map sensor(most likely) so you dont have to trick your computer into giving the motor the fuel it needs. it will know its getting boosted, and give more fuel accordingly, by adjusting pulse width, not the fuel pressure. with megasquirt you wont need it. if you stay with stock computer, buy it, cuz you'll NEED it =]
  12. only if your gonna do it up ghetto style. ever thought of a haltech, or megawhatever?
  13. sounds like a pitch adjuster on top of the motor, or the rubber motor, or tranny mounts. sometimes you have to jack the motor, or tranny up a bit to see the cracked rubber.
  14. ya, thats super ghetto. i dont know why these damn things done come with the lift kit. when morganm told me he was having one made, i said... "isnt that a big part of the "kit"?" seems like it would be better to send this peice along with the lift kit, than to see scrap welded/taped together. is there a big variation between lifted subarus, that prevents a common/generic length? i dont run one, only because i run solid motor, and tranny mounts. and theres no room for one on my er27. or my 4 speed. otherwise runing without one is a pain for hookup(bouncing wheels on acceleration), and shifting.
  15. fox, you still in sconsin? i have a complete 5 lug swap sitting here on my garage floor. i like 6 lugs, so i dont see myself using it anytime soon
  16. 5 lug swap also means bigger brakes, front and rear! legacy suspension. good stuffs.
  17. this is either very misleading, or wrong... i have an ea81. an ea82 axle wont fit on my car"properly" unless i knock off both ends, and put them on the ea81 shaft. i never tired jaming one in there, but the difference in length is visible from a distance. ea81 car, needs ea81 axles. ea82 car needs ea82 axles. please tell me if im missing something.
  18. if you go solid on part of the engine mount, get to goin solid on whe whole thing. one solid, and some rubber, can end up tearing the rubber ones you have left. but anything in a pinch. my first subaru had a bent one for years. i never even knew it. i bought the car crashed, and assumed it was like that. i think its still bent.... lol i bent them and broke them all the time, back when i used them.
  19. i see 8000lb Warn winches on jeeps all the time. i know warn is better and all that, but 8000lb is 8000lbs, and we weigh under 3k, unlike a jeep, with 35 inch superswampers. id go with the big one, since its cheap.
  20. toyota pickups/4runners kick rump roast. i love my subaru, but i have a 4runner too. toyotas are way harder to work on tho =/
  21. i've seen three very inportant wires, in a subaru factory manual, labeled wrong. like completely wrong, so i dont use them if i can get by without one. even on the er27!
  22. my h6 fits with the radiator up front. even tho the newer h6 motors are smaller outside diameter, you aint fittin two turbos with that motor... afaik
  23. just say no to sex with pro lifers =x
