  1. no pump in tank. all subarus i've dealt with have external, inline, pumps, stock, from the factory. no pump in your tank. just metal lines coming off of it.
  2. might you have less than adequate antifreeze in the car? a frozen heater core is hard to thaw out.
  3. ive had them all in my hand, all the efis are the same. napa book says so also. the pump i am suggesting has been tried, and has worked before, works quite well for well over a year, in several different efi conversions! and on an er27! lots cheaper and you dont need an adapter for the tank hose.
  4. ignition, or cam timing, will change vaccume.... why? do you mean compression?
  5. my computer just broke on me, right in the middle of the post, all i could do was click the mouse. lol napa part number 2p74028 around 40 bucks i guess, i priced a walbro? high performance super duper aftermarket go go pump, and it was $100+ 1 year warranty, buy the 70$ one and its lifetime. wurks gud i swar and... all the ea82 spfi, turbo, and er27 pumps are the same
  6. "cuz its cold outside" cold and moist. just a little bit of coolant would make it do that, enough you wouldnt notice. its a subaru, they do that, floor it! that or your not runing an air filter, and your sucking snow
  7. basicaly anything with 12 volts will work. id get this napa one intended for an f150 pickup. it has the smaller 5/16 inlet, just like the carbureted cars fuel tank, instead of the efi 3/8 or 1/2 inch inlet. napa part numbrk
  8. yar melted stuff is bad. id buy a junkyard motor before i stuck spensive stuff like rings and bearings into it.
  9. if your problem is not enough torque, hopefully giving it about 10 more lbs would compress the metal, and seal it all up. the only thing id worry about is the sealant getting washed away by compression/oil/coolant. dont these guys tell you what to torque their gaskets to? when i use metal gaskets on harleys, it says to rough up te surface with a rasp. sounds scary, but it gives the copper something to bite into. others have recommended having your surfaces polished... wierd stuff. how come dsm and toyota guys have such good luck with the copper and other metal gaskets?
  10. thats why i always straddle the ruts. stick one tire in the middle, between the ruts, then the other tire on the outside of the other rut. ruts kill subaru undercarriage, especialy when the guy before you was runing 31s at the very minimal. not sure if thats how you got the hole, but thats where all my offroading trouble started.
  11. i take those things off when i do motor swaps. i thought they were just a shock obsorber to smooth out the pulses from the fuel pump. they are inline right off of the manifold, on EFI cars.not needed. the best thing you can learn from a hayes, or a chilton, is that they make better kindling than they do a manual.
  12. an alternator can leave you dead in the water. timing belt(just the one), and idlers disty axle welder =]
  13. hehe, i love junkyards. i went out there with 20 feet of rope to shove in the spark plug hole. but it was so cold, the engine didnt move. pully came right off. i always deal with peepl on here on their word, and a cyber handshake. peepl rarely get burned by peepl from this board.
  14. nope, its tough. as hell. when peepl loose wheels, the ball joint breaks the fall.
  15. i was spinin at least two this morning. 1/4 inch of ice on everything!
  16. i just floored it around the back streets and alleys of minneapolis, its carnage out there, i hear sirens about every 20 minutes from crashes. i need one of those steel tube rear bumpers for such occasions.
  17. or you can pull the plastic housing out of the metal ends(preferably near the firewall) cut down the plastic housing, and the cable sticks out longer.
  18. no gl 2 door hatch in that list. my 4x hatch with an ea82 weighs around 2200 lbs with half a tank, and no me. about as light as you can get one, gutted interior.
  19. id start with each of your fuel filters, then start looking at fuel pump shorts.
  20. look at motorcycle if you want lighter. kawasaki 650-1100 late 70s.
  21. er oops, wrong forum... well lets turn it into talk about how it will help with my issues =]. mcbrat, this should fix what ales me right?
  22. theyre as heavy as it gets from subaru right? i need to get my front end back up from the er27 and the bumper
