http://www.xt6.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3362 thats my post over on the xt6 forums, tryin to get this thing running. my main concern is if that ignition relay is drawn backwards... also, will an optical distributor system give spark without the computer? say if i hotwire the coil, like on carbureted cars, will the disty throw out a spark without the computer telling it what to do? thanks.

if your gonna fotoshop something, i thought the first thing you were supposed to do is take out any miscelanious asses that may have gotten in to the shot... =] -
tighten your lugnuts...
archemitis replied to monstaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
that is my biggest fear. happened to my cousin. somehow he found all four lugnuts within 10 feet of eachother. i never understood how they always seem to all come off at once. guess with a subaru, its hard to tell when a wheel is about to fall off, cuz theres always something wierd going on with the suspension =] -
Preferred gasoline for Subes?

its all about the addatives. cheap fuel for cheap cars =] unless you got a turbo. -
who's that dis'n the Justy?!
archemitis replied to RallyJusty's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
110hp? must be turbo. but you nevermentioned that, so it must have realy had about 80... -
ok, what about this, you guys are runing stock fuel pumps right. what does an na efi system run, about 40 psi? i have no idea, but im guessing, if your runing around 30-40, then you add 14 lbs of boost, what if your just maxin out your stock fuel pump, and not hitting fuel cut? the pumps dont put out much more than 45 lbs afaik.

oh... you mean floor it. =] morganm offroaded his 2x up here for 2 years, and i only had to go pull him out of mud once. -
so the wrx disc slides onto the awd/4x trannies? and its an 8 7/8 disc... but nearly the same thickness is a big deal. nearly? your sayin no theory, but fact? dont say fact till your runnin it. or you actualy measure both thicknesses. not everyone is prepared to have their flywheel machined, and it would suck to have peepl buy clutches they cant use =]

this pump has 5/16 on each side, so you need an adapter. an air chuch works =)
-
acording to the napa book it was maxed out at 45, and flowed about 30 gpm... as far as i remember, maybe a napa guy will chime in. it doesnt actualy give you any more fuel pressure, so you dont need any modifications. unless you change your fpr. i have the number memorised now, 2p74028 napa also i used coil brackets to mount them, but the stock mount will work too. coil bracket # icb10

look at the diagram closely its just a one way gate, it gives power to one relay, but also prevents power from flowing backwards and turning on the other relay. imma go start mine now =] with my new f150 fuel pump! =]
-
hehe, that pump is good for 90 psi and 50 gallons per minute =]. way too much for a subaru, but the fuel pressure regulator bleeds off what you dont need. i have ran that pump for 1 year now on a na mpfi ea82. good stuff =] 50 instead of 250 rools!

but if you went with standard thread you dont need the 30 helicoil!
-
make sure your bolts arent too long rubbing on your caliper. other than that, you should be able to free it up, by pushing it in and out, or pulling it apart and cleaning it up. unless its a giant rust ring inside the caliper on the bore, or piston, or your rubber is worn out, but if its not leaking, there is hope.
-
those are all rad!
-
the standard coarse thread 7/16 is the best option. helicoils are so damn expensive, and if your hole is stripped out, the 7/16 will almost fit in there without drilling or tapping.(almost meaning i have done it before, hammered it in there an 1/8 inch then torqued her down. on a road trip) also make sure you dont still have half the threads sitting in the bottom of the hole. sometimes only the outside half of the threads get pulled out with corrosion, and the last half still works well dont overtorque on install =]

um... morganm... your coil isnt even bolted down
-
i'll vouch for that, no springs sucks, you cant launch off the line without catching air... thats with a good bit of horsepower tho. a brat with 75 hp might be ok...
-
Have you seen this Brat? Please Look!

Creating vacuum leak to pass emissions
archemitis replied to newsance's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i think one line is too much, youd need something like a pinhole, or something slightly larger. -

if your gonna do this, you can go to a pet shop, and get a valve for an air pump for aquariums, then you can tune in your leak... just get a T and leave it all hooked up. hide the bleeder. or just get it hot, that helps alot -
yar, if its that, you need that =]
